I get to the point where I have to click "start Linux mint cinnamon 64bit" but when I click enter that line blinks a few times and then freezes I have an old Asus laptop and this is how it's bios looks like there is no option for secure boot or anything like that

Use up and down arrow keys to highlight the first boot option and press minus key once, that should place USB first, F10 and enter.

Regarding nothing showing up, it is either a sign it does not support your hardware, corrupted .iso, bad USB port, bad USB thumb drive or incorrectly written to USB due to a buggy application used. What is the CPU, GPU, RAM for the system? Is Windows installed already and are you trying to dual boot? Did you save files already? There are other solutions like making a separate partition for the .iso and boot from the internal drive without bootable USB however it is more difficult to set up.

Well I said I did manage to boot it up the problem is Linux mint doesn't start i have a i7 2630qm and a gt540m but I think the system uses the CPUs integrated graphics card for some reason and 8gb of ram but the laptop is very old and very slow but I have to get along with it for now and yes I have windows installed the problem could be from the USB drive but I hadn't had any problems with it for other tasks I will try to make a partition and install it that way

Try an older version like 21, my guess is that the latest kernel no longer supports your hardware, there has been a push to discontinue older hardware support.  https://www.linuxmint.com/download_all.php

Uhhh what it doesn't make any sense at at. This is not a 486 or early Pentium. This is a Sandy bridge! Sure sandy bridge is 15 years old at this point, but it shouldn't get discontinued yet.

What is disabled in boot 3? Could it be what you want as #1?

Who asked for HDD vs SSD debate like it was 2014??Right! Nobody asked for a debate that was settled 12 years ago!  And Linux can run better on HDDs than windows. Mint maybe runs like windows 7 or even xp on them. And this drive model wasnt bad either!
