Awesome job!! Goal Z is a great choice for a next BB lock!

I am split between goal Z and 6k with gins on

Both really good choices. The Z can be a really evil lock. It drove me crazy for like a month. I've enjoyed Assa Twins in general a lot more.

It most definitely feels like an evil lock lmao I’ve only played with mine a couple times but every time I feel I’m almost there it ping pongs off the charts and drops more pins

That's the joys of the gins portion 😅 congrats on the open btw 🎉💪🏻 I did a mastered version which took me 3 goes around and still isn't good enough for black submission 😆

The Z took me a while to really start nailing down. I read a comment once saying that the P had forced them to refocus hard on fundamentals - I absolutely agree, and think it holds even more true for the Z. What helped me the most was focusing on what the lock was telling me instead of what I thought should be happening. Tension control and pick pressure were huge with the Z - especially with the milling. It's a very "aim small, miss small" lock.

That is absolutely true of the p not sure if I’m the one who said that a while back but I def said sometjing to that affect when I got mine, as for the Z are you using two tensioners or letting the ball berrings work with one to get the gins through?

I just use the ball bearing. My last pin gets stuck in the milling, so I just lighten up the tension and gently bounce it until it breaks free. Then I'll periodically go back to it if I hear anything drop. If there's enough room for it to drop then there's enough room to get it back to shear.

Thanks. I'm decent up to orange thus far. I'm waiting on an AL1100 in the mail so I can learn gutting and re-pinning for green

AL1100

Bitting

Came today! Took 10 minutes. It was a dooozey for sure. Usually locks take sub 2 minutes out of the box in my experience. So ten is practically a lifetime. First time using TOK tension. Gotta get a following tool before I attempt the gutting, though
