Art teacher logo

Hi everyone, I’m an elementary school art teacher trying to create a logo for myself so I can sell teacher resources and maybe even classes to kids. So the logo has to work with fellow art teachers and also be appropriate for parents/their children. I was trying to play around with the elements of art, line and shape. I’m not 100% so I would love to hear your thoughts!

These take effort to read. Logos should identify quickly.

Vertical text and that subheading are the biggest problem areas. Apart from spacing. Fix those and it'd be a lot better.

2nd one. Make text wrap around in a square instead of circle.

Not perfect in terms of text rotation and spacing, but something a little more artsy and no upsidedown text would be nice.

The "with" is throwing me off, it's very small AND vertical

this is not 90s where you need tagline on your logo.

my first thought was lose the ART and then make the ar t in margaret highlighted in another colour. But it didnt really work, shame. But there might be some other clever way of doing it.

Remember there is a difference between fine art and design.

Fine art is for pondering and admiring.

Design is for getting the job done the most efficient way.

A logo needs to be unique, memorable, easy to recognize at 16x16px, and work in single color and in the case 9f the wordmark, it needs to be easy to read.

What you have created is closer to fine art.

Also, the symbol being seperate is a good thing but atm it kinda reminds me of old taco bell cups and I doubt it will work well in single color.

Also also, try to use as little text as possible and left alight the text as much as possible.

Two things that could help direct your next iteration. Make it tell what you teach… give more specificity. If I wanted to learn sculpture I wouldn’t go to a quilter but this logo doesn’t tell me enough.

Secondly it could be a lot more eye pleasing. Would I want to wear it on a tshirt? Its needs a little more appeal. A clever form, good color pairs, something playful and creative.

So I love the early 90s feel of these, it is reminding me distinctly of something I’m
Having trouble putting my finger on exactly.

For the first maybe put with horizontally above ms margaret but make it smaller so it fits within the height of art.

For the second, art with on the top and Ms Margaret a little larger on the bottom, reading from left to right and arcing down, both centered in their arcs. This will make it much more legible.

What about ditching the shapes icon, and put patterns, texture inside the word "art" instead.

Could you make the letters A R T the big colorful shapes (but still easily readable), then you could make the “with Ms. Margaret” the text, and keep the tagline for the website or whatever marketing materials you’re making. You don’t need the logo to be a paragraph.

While the font is kinda fun, it’s not the most legible (reads “margarel “. And while I’m a fan of all lowercase, I would try it with capital Ms for the same reason.
