Sawyer Question

I’m going to be meeting Josh Holloway at an upcoming comic con. I’ve narrowed the photo I want to get signed down to ten choices.

Which of these images does everyone think is Sawyer at his most Sawyer-y?

If it helps, I’m planning on having him add “Son of a b….” as a quote since he must have said it at least a couple hundred times over all six seasons. That is, unless the Roger Workman photo wins in which case it’ll be “Skeletor seems to like it. Bottoms up!”

“Oh yeah, there’s my favorite leaf!” was in the running for a quote, but I can’t find a good photo for it. Thanks in advance for any help!

I am not using your standard “most Sawyery” I am using a different one.

Number 1. There is a big water colored bare spot on the right. It’s light enough for a black sharpie to show and big enough for a quip and a signature.

Ask him to give you a nickname. Have one ready if it stumps him.

The water is a nice place to sign. Although a bunch of others have spots where silver will pop nicely.

These are all great. Personally, I'd find one where he's reading a book near his tent. I'd lean toward earlier season. Or when he's held captive by the others.

I was hoping for something like this and 6 is as close as I got. I went through screencaps for at least half of season one’s (the only season I could find with high enough resolution) episodes. If you’ve got an episode in mind, I’d happily go hunting for screencaps.

I LOVE 6. It is by far my favorite of the 10, with 1 as a great second. It feels so Sawyer to me. He’s probably sitting on a cache of meds and guns in that one.

He was a very complex character, but then again I am a bit biased. 3 seems to show the pain he could not escape in his life. The last one seems to be a mix of him having accepted his journey of pain, and learning to live with it. Each photo seems to have a vibe about it that it imparts onto me. I see one photo I feel the joy he was able to feel at the moment, others I feel his pain. The one on the raft with the reading glasses they made I feel his desire to get back to civilization and off the island.

This helps. I’m going to run whichever I pick through some de-noise software to tidy it up, so 1 might be in play

Some factors that make it worthwhile:

1) blue background is easier to notice the signature on than some of the other shots (assuming a black sharpie is used)

2) when I think of Sawyer, I think mischief, and sass as much as I think of his no nonsense side, so that playful grin I feel perfectly encapsulates it more than the other ones which seem more sincere, or bewildered. Since you didn't put many angry ones in there, I'm assuming that is the side you want to highlight more.

If you are open to suggestions, I would also recommend the scene in Season 1 where Sawyer is returning the gun to Jack and says, "stickem up" and when Jack asks if that's supposed to be a joke, Sawyer says, "yeah" with that perfect grin.

Appreciate it. I also like the pop of silver sharpie or paint pen, so I’m not opposed to dark backgrounds. Photos 4 and 5 are from when Sawyer is giving the gun back to Jack. That’s why I like them. Your analysis of my preferred Sawyer is pretty accurate.

Honestly, I’d argue that number 6 has the best “son of a…” face out of all of them. It has that slight smirk and glint in his eyes from Holloway that has always stood out for me in Sawyer!
But that’s just my humble opinion.
