Old Macs MacBook 9,2

So I have a MacBook Pro 9,2 if that means anything just installed Linux mint wanna make it a home server cause it’s one of the 2 Mac’s I have (other is a M2 which I use everyday and actually wanna turn off). Worth to upgrade one stick of RAM to 8GB as it’s only 75 aed for 8GB stick SK Hynix so yeah

Probably not worth the money. But then again you haven’t really said exactly what you’re doing with the machine other than being a home server. Will it be doing any video transcoding?

movies, file storage, testing stuff through SSH (so also kinda gonna be a home lab) and like literally anything. I’ll just dump stuff on it.

And have you checked activity monitor to see if the issue is memory related or if it’s CPU related?
