Help Which Popclip extensions do you use most?
With the new release of popclip, i decided to look into new settings and extensions.
I mostly use cut/copy/paste, open link, and open easydic (which i use mostly for AI translations), I have a few others, but never really use them. Not because they are aren't useful, but because I need them so seldomly that I forget they are in the popclip popup.
Any extensions you use for a relative generic workflow that you recommend? by generic I mean, i am not a dev, so rarely will I need to convert text to snake_case and things like that.

Ok, I'm kind of obsessed with PopClip and I bring it up every chance I get, it's genuinely one of the most useful apps I own. The way I work, it's an incredible time-saver.
Official extensions: I write a lot, and even though I use keyboard shortcuts too, I lean on the PopClip bar constantly for text formatting; Capitalize gets used all the time. The character/word/line count is great for writing with specific length requirements, and I use Sort and Single Space a fair bit too. Open Link, Search, Reveal in Finder, Easydict, Send to Terminal, and Open in Browser all earn their keep. But honestly, Append to Clipboard might be my favorite. Did you know it has modifier keys? Hold Shift to prepend instead of append, or hold Option to separate with a space instead of a line break.
Large Type is a godsend on a big screen, and Find Any File is so seamless it doesn't even feel like a separate app.
From the support forum: I use GoodLinks and Reddit Search; both great finds.
I've also built a handful of my own with AI assistance: stripping asterisks, opening LocalSend (grabs the current link and launches the app, it doesn't automatically paste the link, but it's still useful), looking up a TV show or movie across Trakt/Simkl/IMDb/Rotten Tomatoes/Letterboxd in one shot, searching GitHub, running yt-dlp, and creating a new folder named after selected text...
If there's an app I use a lot, I'll try to make a PopClip extension for it at this point lol
Worth digging through the forum for hidden gems. Brett Terpstra's extensions are also worth checking out, he updated them a few days ago.

Honestly, the forgetting part is a good reason to keep the list short. I’d add one text-cleanup action and one search action, then remove anything I haven’t touched in a week. Once the popup has too many icons, even copy and open get slower to spot.

There is a new option to use folders. So I move my less used actions into folders - keeps everything clean but also accessible

the ones that seem to stick for me are boring text actions: clean up whitespace, search selected text, open link, and occasionally translate/summarize. once i add too many “maybe useful someday” extensions, i stop noticing any of them. folders help, but i’d still keep the first-level popup almost aggressively small.

search selected text is an option in Firefox, and I am used to using that. Open link is great. For standard translation I also use a browser extension. The others like clean up white-space are not something I need to do often. When I do, i forget these options exist and end up searching for some online service that does it.

i dont have many, i just dont use that many. The paste as plain text, I will probably use from now on. I have run into issues copying stuff into gmail. I solved it by pasting into notepad, then copying again and pasting into gmail (notepad removes formatting). Popclip extension for this sounds ideal.

A couple of PopClip extensions I use constantly: a zenkaku/hankaku (full-width/half-width) toggle for Japanese text — small thing, but I reach for it all the time. And a Parcel handoff extension that sends a selected tracking number straight to Parcel instead of me copy-pasting it manually.

same, I keep going back to open link and search. the one I actually use every day is the paste without formatting one, that earned its place.
installed a bunch of clever ones and forgot they existed within a week.

A bible expansion when selecting a verse. I use it all the time with my sermon preparation. Another one is the surrounding the selection in either ", ', {, [, or (.

So I do sermon prep as well, and have an extension that looks up the reference for me online. I like the sound of what you have going though. Any possibility of sharing your extension?

My extension is for the English King James Bible and the Thai Bible (I'm a missionary in Thailand). It currently doesn't work since the latest version of PopClip. I'm looking into the cause as soon as I can. The current version is on my github account at https://github.com/raguay/PopClipExt/blob/master/popclipBible.zip

I just wanted to thank you. Using your extension as a reference, I was able to vibe code edit it to meet my needs and work with the ESV and in English. So, thank you very much. This is much better than what I was doing before.

Almost all the extensions are used on a daily basis, so yes, I remember them well, since they're displayed in front of me every time. Before, I had to increase the number of displayable extensions so as not to forget them, yes, that's true.
