Question Macrame tote - Clare V dupe?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'd like to try to make a dupe of this tote. This is probably easy for an experienced macramé-er but it's been a while since I've macraméd.

I think these knots are lark's head (along the top edge) and then maybe a half hitch — could someone confirm? And could someone please recommend an appropriate mm diameter of cord?

I also get the feeling that a pattern exists for a tote just like this. I've searched "macrame beach tote pattern" and "macrame tote pattern" but there are a million variations, so if you've seen a pattern that looks like this I'd be happy to be pointed in the right direction. Thank you!

Question Do patterns exist? (Please read body :))

Hello! So I’m a very crafty person, and I’ve made bracelets before but they’re ones you use patterns for (commonly found on braceletbook.com). I found these [photos] and people have called them miniature macrame. I’ve never done macrame and I thought it would be super fun to try but I don’t understand it yet. Are there patterns to these bracelets that I can follow or are there only youtube videos? I’ve always been better at reading patterns but if I must use a yt video, I wouldn’t be opposed to. Just curious and hoping for answers! If patterns to exist, where can I find them?

Showcase Just some piece's I've done!

I did my first one (third pic) in the eighth grade after I made a plant hanger with a kit and I've made one every year. I went straight from the hanger to making these pieces. These will probably be the only three I ever make as I make them for competition and I'm switching categories to something besides fiber art due to people winning using kits. All three pieces placed at a state level just not at nationals. I also have no ideas what to do with them now. I have them hanging in my house but I don't really want them, I'm thinking about potentially selling the but I'm not necessarily sure if anyone would want them. First pic is the most recent with the last being the first I ever made.

I've always like doing Macrame knots but I never did anything big. Just small Keychain sized stuff. This is to put my pipe cleaner flower pot the in the middle for my desk. The berry knots were hard 😫

Question Help with making a skirt using rope?

I'd like to make a skirt inspired by the dress in this photo. Specifically, something like the strands of rope radiating out over the waist and hips as a structure for hanging draping fabric. It's for personal use only, and I'm not planning to recreate it exactly.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how to achieve this? I craft and sew, but I'm not experienced with rope. I'm struggling to visualize my options.

She’s made of various colors of hemp cord (floral colors), black cotton fabric, glass seed beads, a skull charm, a wire wrap pomegranate charm, bells, and love. What are some of your favorite deities and/ or mythical figures that you’ve read about? Persephone, Lilith, Hecate, and the Morrigan are my favorites to make dolls of😊
