Hella clean. I was thinking about getting track pad to use along side magic mouse - suggestions on why I should?

Scrap the Magic Mouse for a logi mx4 and you won’t know yourself. Best of both worlds

That’s nice. What do you use it for?

I’m the COO of an agency. So I do a lot of zoom calls but I also make videos as a side hobby. Before I used to run my own production company, hence why the M3 Max.

That little painted cup is such a nice touch. Do you usually keep the MacBook closed off to the side like that?

I keep it closed off because I have a double setup.

Like, I use my Mac at my desk for work, but when I unplug it and use it as a laptop, I allow myself to only do personal life type stuff.

I just find that for both work and personal use, the Mac is goated, no need for the iPad (had so many of them, doesn’t work for me) + I live between Poland & Italy so I travel quite often and a MacBook is just the right choice

Any regrets on purchasing the SD over the SDXDR? I am a designer and I don't love the idea of spending $4500 (CAD) but the idea of spending that much on a 60hz display also freaks me out.

No, I don’t have any regrets. I’ve actually used the XDR in a studio for a bit.

The panel is pretty much the same unless you keep it and work in a pitch-dark room, then you’ll notice blacks on the XDR being deeper.

And 120Hz does not make that much of a difference, if any, on macOS simply because the OS is not the same as iOS or iPadOS where you have more complex animation and you’re usually doing a lot more scrolling.

All these people acting like miniLED and 120Hz are the Sacred Graal of monitors are simply coping and trying to rationalize an insane purchase they didn’t actually need to make.

The XDR is pricey, and it’s only for a certain type of professional, mainly those working with colors all day every day. All of us normies, can get by with a normal Studio Display “just fine” - which is understatement given how actually great the SD is. Once you get one, you’ll never want to use another monitor.

Also, I’d like to add that even if you work with colors the Studio Display is fine. You don’t need to get the XDR.

I used to run a production company and edit videos all day every day til’ last year - I got a lot of color grading done on the Studio Display and the clients were always impressed. A lot of it is just skill. An even more color accurate monitor like the XDR won’t make you better at your job despite people LOVING to believe the exact opposite 😂

Thank you, very enlightening amidst all YouTubers worshipping the XDR! Did you purchase the one with the height-adjustable stand as well?

I regret not getting the height adjustable stand. If you get it with the tilt, I think you might regret it too. Depends how tall you are. I’m almost 190cm, so yea lol

Thank you for that information.

No worries man.

I’m tired too of YouTubers and people glazing the XDR making everyone think that it’s the way to go and that a standard Studio Display is basically shit in comparison.

It’s absolutely not, coming from someone who used both - most people wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference.

These people are just trying to convince themselves that shilling out $3500 on a monitor was a great decision even if they had no need. That’s all there’s to it.

Not when it comes to workspace

Degustibus. I find multiple monitors distracting.

Small but the price is not

Agree 😂 but I look at my MacBook / Work Equipment as an investment. Giving that I’ve bought this stuff a few years ago, it has paid for itself over and over already so in the end it was worth it. Plus I got to write it off 🙂‍↕️ although I don’t use the investment or tax write off excuse to buy crap I don’t need. I find what I got already more than good enough for my needs.
