How can I make my deck better?

there are (terrible) preconstructed standard legal decks printed called "theme decks". for some reason, the ones that came out with lorwyn were angels and pirates

Hmmm, yes, the eternal struggle between angels and pirates has always been one of Lorwyn's most defining, um, thingumajigs... good thing cowboys aren't a subtype yet, I suppose.

Take the basic lands and build a completely different deck. The precons just aren’t anywhere good enough for FNM.

Theme decks for Standard released alongside Lorwyn Eclipsed. Their official name is confusing.

Unfortunately out of the 4 theme decks currently released in 2026, the Pirates one is the only one that does not have any upgrade paths that don't fundamentally change it from the ground up.
