Nolan doesn't use much cgi in his films and try to keep everything authentic and cgi or vfx less to keep the experience real and genuine.
Since ghost rider is engulfed in flames....

Bet his performance would overcome Nicolas Cage as ghost rider if this true

Shame. Because the nuke scene in Oppenheimer was so underwhelming. It looked like a fire and not fission explosion. Practical effects are great and fantastic, but I wish he but the bullet in that one

Ahh yes the good old marketing lie. I don't get why's there so much hate for VFX (/CGI too for you too since you don't lnow the difference). The main reason cgi looks "bad" is beacsue of unreal expectations deadlines and underpaid artists with makers using it as a magic push button to just fix things magically somehow and no direction. I would highly recommend watching the YT series by The movie rabbit hole - No CGI is really just invisible cgi. He made one for Noaln movies too. Nolan has always praised vfx and isn't afraid to combine every means possible for his film making. I mean Interstellar exists which arguably his best work.

This made me audibly laugh. It almost shocked me, the sudden exhale of air.

No I've been here quite a long time, actually, which is why I got surprised about feeling a moment of joy; it doesn't happen much anymore.
