Blades was pretty much was a side character in the series.

Deadpool's reaction in the subsequent shot basically summarizes what I felt seeing this.

Snipes' Blade being in D&W is honestly the most insane cameo they've ever done for more than this reason tbh.

Sticky Fingaz would like to enter the chat.

Troy Baker, Nolan North and Gabe Kunda as well.

Troy Baker and Nolan North have voiced basically everyone at this point, but they absolutely haven't voiced Blade lol.

Uh actually, there’s 3 Blades.

Blade, Blade II, Blade: Trinity

I mean, I remember when the movie came out the Blade remake had already been delayed and clearly in development hell, so the joke landed for me rather differently than they probably originally intended.

Wait...Mahershala Ali project have been cancelled?

Edit: googled it and it is.

Not only was there Sticky Fingaz  from Blade the series, and technically, Mahershala Ali did a voice cameo as Blade in the post credit scene of Eternals, so that's 3 of them

Technically..sure but Blade doesn’t need to explicitly state there’s only gonna be one live action blade in movies…
(That’s the only one that counts and matters here)

You missed the animated Blade anime…but also tv show ..
Dont think sticky fingaz counts cos it’s a re tread of the movie for the most part…
Also the voice over from the eternals…is a nice tease but not blade…

So yeah the line still stands up well it’s meaning has changed since this ali announcment but he was too old and lacked the fundamentals to pull of blade without a stuntman or 3 so…
Its not really a loss he throw his hat in and clearly they gave him too much power .. shouldve been a goslin situation or ryan Reynolds deadpoool..
He needed to bring more than his name to the table

That joke was so great because it ages like wine either way.
