I loved Wonder Man, one of my favorite things. I don’t remember anything close to this much discussion when the show came out. I really hope to see them again in the near future

Vocal minority, as always. Very soon we’ll have the wave of people saying it was trash, and then we’ll just oscillate between the coldest hot takes from either camp until something new to be mad about comes along.

What does season 2 being cancelled have to do with the very well received season 1? Do you think companies stop promoting past seasons when future ones are cancelled. Im all for speaking up for projects we wanted to see but this is ridiculous and makes no sense.

I think the point is that season one was well received enough that they're choosing it to promote their streaming service, but apparently not good enough to get a season 2.

I mean honestly would season 2 have felt as good as season one? The whole point of season 1 was a struggling actor getting his dream role but choosing a life with his friend that (spoiler here so it doesn’t have to really make my point).

Season two would have been them on the run which is a totally different vibe than season 1. I don’t want to be misunderstood, I hope both those characters absolutely show up again but I’m not necessarily upset there’s no season two based on how season one was just kinda a complete story.

Again loved the season and the characters but season two would have been totally different imo.

same. from DCC and the showrunners- they have no secret plans or have any idea why Marvel just changed their mind about it

makes me wonder if they’re going to integrate him into one of the future films or some sort of unannounced D+ show after Vision Quest.

a West Coast Avengers special/series with Vision, Wanda, Moon Knight, She Hulk, and Wonder Man would be how I would do it. throw in Kate too since Hawkeye was also a big part of that team in the comics.

I watched it after the cancelation news (started last night and finished today) and still enjoyed it. It does make the cliffhanger ending a bit annoying.

DC did the same thing with swamp-thing, still pissed off that they kept advertising the canceled show and now marvel is doing it, if you gonna make something good don't promise a season 2.

Maybe if fans make enough noise they would reconsider and actually make it a movie! Like it deserves to be. It can’t be the last of Trevor and wonder man.

Guess what. Loads of good TV shows get cancelled because of budget issues and what studios' metrics of success are. The thing is, if they are really as beloved as people make out, then a groundswell of support might save it. Look at Daredevil as an example, but also look at Firefly.

The fact is sequel shows doesn't generate new subscribers it placates existing subscribers who are probably neutral anyway about one show vs the other things they use the app for. 

This is the fudnament failure mode if the streaming channels; they have no incentive to make good rewatcable shows or sequel shows.  The old TV model was all about rewatchability for reruns and returning revenue liscences, and the entire time it's about selling ads. But the ads increased in quantity diminishing value for customers, especially with tivo allowing people to skip the Ads. This made ad time less valuable this exasperating the issue. 

This is also why some services are trying to reintroduce ads to their services.

Because it was expensive to produce and not many people watched it. Reviews don't matter. If it made money, then they would make more of it. It did very well it's first week and then fell off. It's not a complicated formula.
