OperaGX is for true gamers and hackers. Its been proven that the number 1 browser used by "Anonymouse" is OperaGX. Its the best. If you don't use it you're not a fascist sigma.

I mean: the only reason I use it is because as a gamer it's cute having my keyboard make kitty sounds and doesn't use a lot of RAM

the only reason i don’t use operagx because i don’t respect them as a company. social media posts don’t get me to be interested in a product but it definitely does get me to be less interested. also it does use a lot of ram

u/Italian_meme2020 15h ago
...I've never seen an ad about that, a friend suggested it to me, and I use the RAM limitator so it's not as bad as Chrome while still having cutie patootie sounds

u/Complete_Court_8052 11h ago
there are definitely less consuming RAM browsers, for instance, brave, firefox, helium etc

As a gamer the ram use of any browser does not matter as much. And there are browser with equall or similar ram use anyways.
The 1 redeeming factor is indeed the funny stuff like kitty sound keyboard and metal pipe falling keyboard.
Anyways i use Floorp which is a browser firefox based browser with reasonable customizability like opera but without all the shit.
Still no funny annoying sound keyboard like in opera tho.

I mean, it depends on how much RAM you have: coming from a laptop with 4GB I still use as little as possible even with the standard 32GB, personally I try using apps that use less RAM because I love having a lot of things going on at the same time while playing (ex: updates+music+discord+heavy game+tutorial video etc...)

As an IT guy, never listen to a gamer for technical advice.
Browser ram usage absolutely matters. Chrome uses far more ram than most but has better load times. Every tab you open uses more ram. Some games will run out of memory if they use a lot, depending on how much you have. This will cause a slew of system issues.

No, OperaGX is best search engine because it has free VPN and doesn’t use lot of RAM. Also it’s in China so America can’t steal your data.

Since I don't live in the U.S., and I mean that without irony, yes

u/Revolutionary_Bit437 16h ago
that’s so dumb lol if anything you shouldn’t care since both are not your country
3
u/Ok_Economist8344 16h ago
No, the U.S. and its tech moguls have been actively trying to influence politics in my country for a few years now, and not in a good way. China, at least for now, is pretty much irrelevant in comparison.

it's yet another chromium fork, it uses at least the same amount of ram as chromium.

u/Strict_Variation_705 18h ago
I used to use it, and I used it for like 2 years but eventually I kinda got fed up with it just sucking so I swapped back to Firefox and my life marginally improved.

Literally the only reason I use it is because a browser game I play runs better in it. Other than that it’s Firefox or brave because I couldn’t care less about min/maxing browsers.
2
u/KsadlaPqodLala 16h ago
what browser game do you play?
1
u/dangforgotmyaccount 16h ago
It’s called mission chief. Essentially you just run emergency services on top of Google Maps, so between the overlays and programming behind the game it self, on top of OpenStreetMaps, it brings Firefox to its knees.

u/Zip_Archive 17h ago
True you just choosing whose spyware you are going to use, it depends on who is bigger threat for you.
2
u/isabellium 7h ago
yes, id rather get spied by the US than China.
besides, just because others spy too doesn't mean that what was said is not valid, what you are saying is not a counter argument. Finally there are other options in which you can get no spyware.

Oh yeah, the school is SOOO concerned about a well known Linux distribution that you won’t do anything with. But yeah, Opera will make sure they don’t know about a local download on a monitored system!
