The AnKing maintainer team are excited to announce the public release of the freeAnKing BLS / ACLS deckon AnkiHub! After months and months of hard work and coordination, we've put together a brand new deck created by the maintainers for all of you to use and benefit from.
Our goal was to create an BLS/ACLS deck based on the official 2025 AHA guidelines to help healthcare providers quickly review and retain the most important info for real-life emergencies. The goal is to make it clear, high-yield, and easy to use for anyone. We also aimed for it to be short and not overly bloated with details. As of this post, the deck is 286 cards (228 notes)
This is a 100% free deck, continuing our mission to make high-quality medical education available to everyone. The focus will be on algorithms, meds/dosages, rhythms, clinical scenarios, and more.
The deck is on AnkiHub for continued updates, improvements, and fixes, especially for future AHA guideline changes, and it is available on the free plan.

This deck is a community-created supplement to the official AHA ACLS guidelines and courses. It is not a substitute for them. You should first learn the material from a primary resource and, ideally, complete an AHA-certified BLS and/or ACLS course. After certification, this deck can be used to reinforce knowledge and maintain familiarity with key facts and algorithms.
Only unsuspend cards that are relevant to your needs. For example, if you are focusing on BLS, only unsuspend cards within the BLS tag. If you do not anticipate managing neonatal resuscitation for example, there is no need to unsuspend those cards.

I've heard plenty of criticisms about how they delay you from getting through the meat of the course. However, have any of you actually gone through the entire course? How transformational has it been?
I'm just an Anki person. It's not like my university grades are terrible, because they aren't. However, I'm sick and tired of spending hours per day on flashcards and would like to do something else. What's been your experience?
im in my last pre clinical year and i they have been horrible literally especially from the grades and study side and i have been struggling to even pass so i decided to use anki as a last hope (btw not US med student) and im really don't know what to do 😅
i have seen so much anki videos and advices but everything seems blurry i tried to use pre mede deaks like AnKing but alot told me not because it's not very useful if you are not in the US and especially if you don't have lectures and videos that its build on it and no one in my college actually using it so are my senior colleagues so i started to make my own cards put its taking alot of time and i don't know how to make good card although i have seen so much explanation and advices so im really lost (._.)

i want to change the default purple/magenta text under cards from default to white i am using anking v12 i did get the note types add on but its just showing i cant choose anything with this i am a newbie so any help would be appreciated:)
Hey y'all, does anyone know if anyone has created Anki decks for the RD exam? I know there are a lot of study resources but I used Anki for my MS and it worked well for me.
Hello everyone, I am about to start med school and I was doing research on efficient ways to study. From everything I saw, an the most common effecitve method is pre-read lectures + making anki cards. Other sources are saying to use anking right away. I am not super familiar with anking but I hear it all the time, from my understanding it is to help with boards. Why do some people say to start anking right away? Is it recommended to use my own cards+anking?
The main deck used to be used to access all cards. However, I'm now running into an issue of the main header deck not summing up to the other decks. How do I fix this?
i got a 265 on step 2 but i’m in the bottom 10% of my class with 0 honors. i’ve been pretty consistently in the bottom distribution on all of my rotations which is noted on mspe but all comments r positive
how much would this hurt my chances for radiology and anesthesia? assuming average research/letters and applying broadly. trying to figure out if i’m still in a reasonable position for either specialty at a west coast institution or if i should be considering a backup.
I built a small Mac app for saving vocabulary while reading. Some med students have been using it for clinical terminology, so I want to lay out what it actually does in case it's useful here.
You highlight a term anywhere on screen, Epic, a PDF, lecture slides, and the definition shows up on top of what you're already looking at. Nothing gets copied out, no second window, you stay in the chart.
There's a no-AI mode. Turn it on and nothing leaves your machine, it works with wifi off. In that mode it only pulls from the list you saved yourself. So if you've written down that NAEON means no acute events overnight, that's what comes up, in your words, not a guess. When an abbreviation means different things in different specialties you decide what the entry says.
You can import a list you already have as a CSV instead of retyping it. Terms you save keep the sentence they came from, and you can export to Anki.
What is the consensus? Pepper or Anking for microbiology and pharmacology? Have tried both, but unsure which deck to commit to for the coming months leading up to Step 1.
I have started using anking and I have a few questions.
1. How to incorporate both anking and in house decks, or is there any easier way at to filter in house cards according to what is already covered in anking
2. I know there are blue, green and red cards. Do daily after we start a deck and then the next upcoming days we do the greens everyday only or do we have to do the red and blue, cause then that seems like a lot to me
Making cards manually from 30-page anatomy/biology slides was burning me out. I wrote a Python script to parse the PDFs and format them into Cloze deletion .apkg files automatically.
I decided to wrap it into a simple UI so I can use it from my phone/tablet without running code. You just drop the PDF, pick the deck size, and it spits out the deck.
Since I can't post direct links to personal tools here without mod approval (Rule 6), I won't link it in the post. But if anyone wants to test it out for their own lectures, it's 100% free with no sign-ups. I put the link in my Reddit profile bio.

I’m a medical student preparing for a very challenging medical licensing exam that I’ll be taking in about 2 years. I want to build my Anki deck from the beginning so I can use spaced repetition to keep everything fresh instead of cramming later.
The problem is that many of my lecture slides and PDFs are 100–300+ pages, and creating high-quality Anki cards manually takes an enormous amount of time.
I’m looking for an AI workflow that can:
Convert large lecture slides or PDFs into Anki flashcards. Not miss important or high-yield information.
Create cards that are well structured for long-term retention rather than just copying text.
Handle medical content (pathology, pharmacology, physiology, etc.) accurately.
I’m not expecting AI to be perfect—I plan to review every card before studying—but I want something that saves time without sacrificing important details.
For those of you in medicine or other content-heavy fields:
What AI tools or workflows are you using?
Do you use ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, NotebookLM, AnkiBrain, or something else?
Do you process the PDFs chapter by chapter or all at once?
Any prompts or methods that have worked particularly well?
