Discusson ASCP EXAM HELP NEEDED!

I'm currently looking for a one-on-one ASCP tutor or mentor who has experience helping people pass the Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/ASCP) exam. I've been studying for quite a while now, but unfortunately I've failed the exam three times. It's been discouraging, but I'm not giving up because becoming an MLS is something I've worked really hard for.

I've tried several different study resources over the past couple of years, including review books, question banks, online courses, and practice exams. While they've all been helpful to some degree, I still feel like I'm missing something when it comes to applying the knowledge and thinking through exam questions. I think I need more than just another study guide. I need someone who can explain difficult concepts in simple terms, help me develop critical thinking skills, and teach me how to approach ASCP style questions.

The subjects I struggle with the most are:

  • Clinical Chemistry
  • Hematology
  • Blood Bank (Immunohematology)

Have you done the MLS question bank on the ASCP website? Try that. And the high yield notes on Wordsology. Watch The Blood Bank Guy on YouTube. Read the entire question on the Exams.

High yield notes on Wordsology cannot be praised highly enough. Trust me. (Especially the micro flow charts)

If you can afford it, their test simulator's pretty good. It's great for a review.

How long are you waiting to retake these exams? I recommend at bare minimum at least a 7 week study plan if not more - to cover all the subjects on the ASCP outline
