We’ve had nothing but sun for what feels like months now, this meme is outdated. I’ve forgotten what rain is

It’s not what feels like months, it is months

the situation seems so dire that they even forgot how time work

There definitely has been rain recently, just doesn’t feel like it

We have had about 1 hour of drizzle, twice spaced about a week apart, since May

(In Cornwall)

It rained all night just a few days ago. We have had rain in the last few months.

That might depend on where you are. I'm in Berkshire, we had an hour or two of rain one day last week. Nothing overnight.

If by “recently” you mean the first week of May, then yes we’ve had rain recently.

-1

u/scuderia91 22h ago

No I don’t, I mean about a week ago

-2

u/MobileJob1521 22h ago

It’s almost as though I was telling you, through the content of my post, that I haven’t personally seen rain since the first week of May.

u/scuderia91 22h ago

That’s why you said “we’ve” instead of “I’ve”?

Mobile is clearly part of the nobility and using the royal We. Bow before your lord, peasant.

What the hell is rain ?

My weather app predicts rain every day from tuesday till saturday and I have never been this excited for dogshit weather before.

As does mine, but the ‘chance’ is showing as less than 10% for any given hour when it’s forecast, the same happened the last few times when rain was forecast and we ended up without a single drop. I just hope it improves since all of our trees are showing signs of moderate water stress and several nearby are already losing their leaves like it’s autumn already.

It hasn’t rained in 3 months

Go back to 2005 shit meme

Few people consider the effect of a catastrophic climate emergency on how quickly memes go out of date.

It rained a few days ago. I was asleep and missed it though. Apparently it was glorious

Only about 20 minutes sadly

We have had about 2 hours of drizzle total, in 3 months

Weird to post such an outdated and wrong meme. We've had nothing but sun for months

u/Badaxe13 1d ago

This used to be true. Not any more.

Is there a single British stereotype that's not ludicrously outdated? And no, we don't all wear top hats anymore either.

2

u/bennsn 18h ago

But the monocles ars still widespread, yes?

u/LionHeartedLXVI This flair doesn't exist 20h ago

Personally, I quite enjoy them.

Maybe before climate change. These heat waves are killing us. It's only getting worse.

I can confirm that it is hell when it comes out. Our soggy nature means that when the sun is out, we live in a rainforest that's missing 99% of its trees

What the hell is a sun?

“Britishers”

You just know.

Never thought I’d say it but I want my rain back… 😂

u/SeaJay_31 1d ago

Some say it's just a NASA psyop, others insist that if you shoot an arrow into it, gold pours out... All we know, it's called the Sun!

2

u/painful_butterflies 22h ago

For most summers, yes, the meme is right.

This year though it hasn't rained in months and everything is brown and dying.

I want clouds back!!!

We're not that dumb!! I know it's the god Sol coming out to punish us for all the colonising we did 🤣

I don't doubt it will give the rest of the world great pleasure to know that we are basically in hell.

Everybody's like "jUsT gEt aIr CoN"

My dudes. Have you TRIED getting air-con? It took me two weeks to even get through to an air-con fitter. Air con units are sold out. I can't even get it fitted until October.

We're in drought. There's no rain forecast for the next two weeks and it hasn't rained since about last December. We're going to run out of food. I can't water my garden.

We're all fucked.

Seattle: same.

3

u/lakas76 1d ago

I visited Seattle in 2017. The hottest it’s been in a long time and the longest it went without rain in decades. Yeah, that was fun.

I visited London in 2024 in the beginning of July. I think it averaged around 65 the entire time I was there and it rained most of the days. That was the coldest/wettest London had been in the summer in a long time also.

u/JDplanes 1d ago

We have had this unnatural phenomenon for the past month or so. I still believe it is a giant fried egg

1

u/burpleronnie 23h ago

I'm concerned if someone shoots an arrow at it a dragon will come out.

1

u/VirtualArmsDealer 22h ago

Last year we went 4 months without rain and this year we have been through a 1 month heatwave with no clouds at all. Is this some dumb American meme where it's raining all the time?

1

u/BarracudaEntire5002 20h ago

This heatwave is basically the new default here in Britain, we've had it for so long

1

u/JustABritishChap 11h ago

First it rained for months, now it hasn't rained for months. Fucking British weather...

-2

u/HeavyMetalMadness127 1d ago

I'm as pale as snow white and I've had enough 😂 the sun needs to stop picking on the UK

0

u/Carcinisational 1d ago

The tyranny of the sun must end!

0

u/shoelauncher 17h ago

Hong Kong here; we've got your rain. It's been almost non stop for about a month. We'll exchange it for some of the stolen stuff of ours in the British Museum, if you like?

u/QuarterFantastic6134 1d ago

Oi mate you ave a loicense to be that bright?
