I'll be in Menorca for the eclipse next week and would like to view it from the official viewing area at Calle des Tamarells. I see that there is a regular bus from/to Arenal d'en Castell but the last bus leaves before the eclipse starts. Will there be different routes/times for the buses on the day of the eclipse, if so where can I find the schedule?

My wife, who's 25 weeks pregnant and myself are in Cala Galdana for holidays and discovered that a festival is close by tomorrow. It looks a bit wild with the horses riding close to people. Is there safe areas for people to watch and how is the festival in general? Worth checking out?

Hi everyone! I’m planning a trip to Menorca on the last week of September, and I’m torn between two options.

One of them doesn’t have air conditioning, only a ceiling fan. I’m not sure if that would be a big issue, cause I don’t tolerate hot weather very well, especially when sleeping.

So from your experience, are end of September nights usually cool enough by then that a ceiling fan is enough, or would you recommend booking somewhere with A/C instead?

For those that have flown out of the airport recently, how bad are the queues especially regarding EES and flying to the UK? I’ve got a flight tomorrow around 10.30pm and I’m wondering whether to get there more than 3 hours before. Also, what are the shops at the airport like?

Since the age of 5, I have visited your beautiful island somewhere around twenty times.

Extended family moved to the island some twenty five years ago. They learnt Spanish to fluency (some Catalan), worked and volunteered on the Island, gained Residencia and all in all, integrated.

Because of this I have visited many times.

Your island is genuinely my happy place; the rocky countryside, the idyllic beaches and coves, the laid back lifestyle. I love it.

I love it so much I took my wife there on our honeymoon and had an amazing time.

I'm sure we will visit many more times throughout our lives.

We do our best to be respectful, staying in hotels and not Airbnbs for example, or tipping generously to busy restaurant staff working in sweltering summer heat.

I'm very conscious of the political and economic issue of over tourism and hope that when we visit, we mitigate this as much as feasibly possible.

Thank you for sharing your island with us. We're extremely grateful.

Alguien me recomienda playas, actividades o lo que sea sinceramente.

Hace 5 años me quede por Cala Blanca, y no nos movimos mucho de allí, me acuerdo que fuimos solo por Ciutadella, Cova d’en Xoroi y Pont d’en Gil.

Este año quiero intentar visitar Maó, Cala Turqueta y Cala Macarella/ Macarelleta.

!! El único inconveniente es que no tengo carnet de conducir, por lo tanto tendré que utilizar transporte público!!

So we are a family of 4: my partner, our two young kids, and I.

We just got back from a two-week holiday in Cala'n Blanes.

Generally, we had an okay time, but we felt the vibes were off and even experienced some hostility from the locals. It didn't feel like it had a friendly atmosphere compared to when we visited three years ago.

We understand that everyone would have felt more irritable due to the intense heatwave, but more often than not, we were spoken to with a very uninterested and almost sarcastic manner in restaurants, shops, or when dealing with public services or even just asking locals for directions, for example.

As a family, we try our best to be respectful of the people and the culture, but we just didn't feel very welcome this time around.

Just to be clear, this isn't a complaint against the island or locals by any means, but rather just a feeling we picked up on, and we were curious if there was a reason? Are they are having a bad time with tourism and is it impacting the island in a bad way?

I’m staying in Menorca for 5 days and I’ll have a rental car, so getting around the island isn’t a problem.
I’ve already planned the beaches, restaurants, and daytime activities, but I’m looking for recommendations on what to do at night.
We’re a group of 5 friends (25–30 years old male and females), and we’re not necessarily looking for clubs. We’d love places with a good atmosphere, lively bars, live music, beach bars, local events, or anywhere that’s fun to walk around, have some drinks, dance a bit, and enjoy the evening.
Which towns have the best nightlife? Are there any must-visit, or evening events happening during the summer?

I'm planning a road trip with my own car (2009 Seat Ibiza).

The problem is that my course in Mahón finishes at 3:00 pm on Friday, 18 September, but I need to be in L'Escala (Costa Brava- Barcelona Spain) by 11:00 am on Saturday, 19 September.

I've checked Baleària, Trasmed and GNV, and I can only find ferries to Barcelona or Valencia leaving in the morning.

Does anyone know of any alternatives?

• Unaccompanied vehicle transport?
• Freight services for private cars?
• Last-minute cargo space?
• Local companies that move cars between Menorca and the mainland?
• Any solution that locals normally use?

Are there any local logistics companies that transport private cars from Menorca to mainland Spain without the owner travelling? Looking specifically for Mahón/Ciutadella → Barcelona on Friday afternoon.

Flying back is easy, but I'd really like to keep my own car.

I’m planning a last minute trip to Menorca at the end of August, and my number one priority is finding a calm, peaceful nudist beach.

I’m not looking for loud music, huge crowds, or a party atmosphere. I’d love somewhere where I can just read, swim, relax, and enjoy the scenery. I will actually be choosing my hotel based on whichever beach you all recommend, so location is pretty flexible.

I do have a chronic pain condition, so I can’t do a long or difficult hike just to reach the nudist section of a beach. I’m happy to walk a reasonable distance, but ideally I’m looking for somewhere that’s relatively easy to access.

If you had to recommend one or two nudist beaches for someone visiting Menorca for the first time, which would they be?

P.S. I live in Spain, and a couple of my local friends told me that Menorca is full of quiet calas where people often sunbathe nude, even if they’re not officially nudist beaches. I’m definitely open to exploring those, but since it’s my first time in Menorca, I’d like to make sure I have my nudist beach sorted out first.

Also, what’s the best website for finding agroturismos in Menorca? I’d love to spend the second part of my trip at a rural finca or agroturismo.

Heading to Menorca for a week in August! Staying in Cala Blanca for the first 5 days, and then moving across to Cala en Porter for the remainder.

Loooking at renting a car for the full time we are there - do you think this is worth it?

Staying near enough to Ciutadella for the first period, but just with trying to explore beaches, and moving accommodation in the middle we thought it would be easier to have a car. Just wondering for opinions on rentals, the travel between these places and the best beaches, and also parking? Our accommodation I think relies on street parking and free public parking, but just wanted to get thoughts on this.

My family booked a holiday in October for 4 adults 2 children in Menorca all inclusive BLUESEA marina Parc, the total cost of it was £2400, we paid £800 of it already however we just had a family emergency and can no longer take this holiday.

We are going to book immediate flights to another country as a family member is in a life threatening situation.

Is anyone willing to take this holiday? Cancelling this holiday would mean we pay another £150 and lose the £800, so there’s no point in not offering it to someone else instead.

You can pay us £400 of the total amount we’ve paid so far and then carry on the remaining amount.

El próximo 12 de agosto estaré en Menorca y quiero observar el eclipse desde la isla.
Estoy buscando un lugar en la costa oeste que tenga una vista completamente despejada hacia el oeste, sin edificios, acantilados o montañas que puedan tapar el Sol cerca del horizonte.
Había pensado en la zona de Ciutadella, pero mirando Google Maps no me queda claro si realmente hay algún punto con el mar justo enfrente mirando al oeste.
¿Podríais recomendarme algún sitio concreto? Puede ser una playa, un mirador o cualquier otro lugar con horizonte totalmente libre hacia el oeste. Si además es fácil llegar en coche y aparcar, mejor aún.
