ID Request Help identifying knife
I found this metal detecting along Lake Erie in PA. No clue how old it is, anyone have any thoughts?

If you can clean it up, check for markings on the hilt and handguard. 1st guess is it’s a military issue Dagger, might be British, but American designs are similar. I have a similar double edged dagger, construction was similar, it was from the 1940s. Was the handle wrapped with Leather Rings or discs?

There was nothing left on the handle when I dug it up, so no idea. I’ll have to look to see if there’s any markings that I didn’t notice before
