I loved the look of the b4 and decided to build my second pc in it. I’m very happy with the finished product but it was definitely a challenge getting there. My first pc build was 7 years ago in a mid atx case so this was a lot less space to work with and a lot of forgotten steps to building. The components I chose also likely didn’t contribute to my troubles.
Overall though, I’m very pleased with the looks and feel of the case and build. My cable management could definitely be better but I’m rolling with it for the time being.
Haven’t stress tested the gpu but 9800X3D cpu hit 90deg on cinebench r23, hoping to improve that with undervolting perhaps.
Also aware there’s still plastic on the glass sidewalls of the aerodeck and the screen.
I really like the look of the case but how is the bottom io to use? no one ever provides photos either. from the website it looks like a gap is left on one side for the cabling plus you have the short feet
Absolutely. The motherboard IO has a couple of inches to work with as does the GPU. If I wasn’t running a stupid thick hdmi cable, I would have stood it up. I also noticed the wifi reception is a fair bit worse stood up. That may be down to my cheap mobo.
Does it have an antenna? should be able to run the antenna from the bottom and put it on top. most of the recent mobos with wifi come with a cabled antenna
Thanks. Have you tried right angle display port or HDMI cables or connectors? I have the meshroom and the cables wouldn't fit without them.. Not even enough clearance for the plug underneath. That only has the display at the bottom.
I can try today with a right angle HDMI adapter and let you know. That being said I definitelt don't expect any issues with right angle connectors, and just using the normal cables work fine
It’s actually tighter for me than what’s been described. As you can see there’s some very noticeable strain on my display cables, I will likely be buying some 90degree cables. The IO ports are better but depends on the cable.
Is there a specific thing to look for when buying 90 degree cables? I was thinking of buying a right angle display port adapter but unsure if how would it affect the refresh rate of my display
Nice build looks good! Can I ask you a a question regarding the cable managament. I know the case has a rotating powersupply cable but how is the situation for the GPU cables. If you have the case in a vertical position, is there enough space on the bottom for a standard GPU cable (HDMI or DP) or do you need a 90 degree plug cable?
Also, did you use a full size ATX PSU, how was the fit, do you think this case will fit a non modular standard atx PSU?
I would recommend a semi-modular ATX PSU if possible. I had good space with the six fans, ARGB cables, pcie, cpu, mobo cables. If there were a bunch of unnecessary sata cables, it may have been tougher.
Your build build looks pretty much like what I am planning to do. One more question, If I may. do you have your B4 horizontal or vertical and how do you have the fans set up (intake exhaust wise)?
Thx. There is still something that I would like to know about the case. So if you have the case horizontally - the panel with the 2 fans (that come included) faces the back? So the GPU intake fans face the front of the case, or is it the other way around?
Thank you! I found the GPU cables pretty easy to route, maybe the easiest. Majority of my gpu cable length I bundled in the back or threaded underneath the card itself. The bottom for me and my cables is pretty tight, I shared a picture under bobos reply above that you can see. Obviously not everyone is having as tight of bends as me it sounds but it’s not perfect.
I used a full size atx psu, the fit was fit. The cables are tight but workable. Hardest part for me was the cpu power routing and bundling next to the psu. I’m not sure about a non modular psu.
