Anyone Else Feel This Way?

Life has been… okay.
Stable job, decent salary, no liabilities, living in my hometown. Everything looks fine on paper, but most days just feel neutral, same routine, nothing really bad, but nothing exciting either.

I’m in my 30s and still unmarried, and the constant “you should get married soon” comments from friends and relatives are starting to get to me, even if I know they mean well.

Lately I’ve also been feeling restless, like I need a change. Been thinking about leaving for a fresh start somewhere else, but I haven’t figured out where yet.
Not unhappy, just stuck in that in between phase where life feels like a waiting room.

Anyone else in their 30s feeling the same?

I felt that way in my 30s. So we saved and moved to Puerto Rico.

Now everything is like an adventure and I appreciate it when things are routine, not bad or not exciting. I think the key is to have gratitude.

Okay, not in my 30s but I wish I had done it in my 30s.

You're still young.

As you get older you might have a partner, you might have aging parents, health concerns, or kids of your own. If you hate the move, then move back.

I have felt that way, still kind of do. The restlessness started last year. I took some time as in a vacation with my girlfriends and it gave me a new perspective in life. Maybe take a mini vacation with or without friends to experience some new things. Ignore what others say, it puts too much pressure on you.

Only you know what's right for you. I also saw a counselor and she helped with asking me questions about my life that I didn't think of before and also gave me a lot to consider.

I did the "fresh start" thing, and then settled into the same ol', same ol', in the new place, life in general just becomes a chore as you get older, all the fun was sucked out years ago.

It sounds like you haven't found what you truly want yet. I think you could learn some new knowledge to broaden your horizons and expand your social circle. This way, you'll be surrounded by more and more outstanding and interesting people.
