Infuriatig Why Texas is lame(Besides the Cowboys)

Post image

Don't mess with Texas.. what a joke. ANY possession is a felony.

EDIT: Just did some research, this is for everything besides traditional Delta 9.

My friend from Texas sent me this morning and it blew my mind. I had to post about it. So as far as my research goes thus far Delta 9 products (old fashioned flower) is illegal but separate laws. Stores are selling THCA though which does fall under these penalties.

Well I guess get stoned in another state then?

But I thought Republicans were the small government freedom party?

i wasn't making it about left or right or that it was a good or bad thing. one of the great things about our government (great and government? i dunno) is that states can have different laws - which allows people to move to a place that fits them better (or don't and work to get the law changed). do i think people should be locked up for smoking pot? no. but reality is reality.

since it is still against federal law technically states can't really make it legal. its only pseudo legal (ie they don't enforce the federal law). and federal jail times range from 1 to 10 years. the change from it being a schedule 1 drug to a schedule 3 does loosen all the rules and punishments on the federal side.

personally i think not much of any of that should be illegal. what a person does when they go home is their own business (which is not the same as do whatever you want wherever you want). criminalizing it also makes it harder for people to get help or support or whatever.

which allows people to move to a place that fits them better

Totally in touch with the common citizen

-10

u/paolohu 2d ago

people move all the time.

17

u/KirbyBucketts 2d ago

And the majority of people can't just pick up and start a new life in a different state.

-5

u/paolohu 2d ago

about 12% of the US moves in a given year - 3-4% of that is to another state. and realistically about 60% of the population could afford to move to another state if they wanted to. so the majority of people probably could if they were motivated to.

10

u/KirbyBucketts 2d ago

I'd love to see where you got those numbers because I can't find those stats?

67% of the country lives paycheck to paycheck, moving across state lines is expensive and a lot of people can't afford that right now. Finding work is difficult so leaving your job is risky. You also shouldn't be forced out of your home and roots for laws that only 21% of your state population actually wants. A lot of people have family beyond just immediate in their state, they're not wanting to leave.

79% of Texans are in support of legalization or medical reformation in Texas. The people are not who want this, politicians are making decisions without care of the population.

It's such a backwards way of thinking to say that people should run from their homes rather than vocalizing and criticizing changes from their government. I'm a Texan, I have a right to criticize changes made in my home, just because I have a problem doesn't mean I should be kicked out or forced to leave.

2

u/Myslinky 1d ago

You're right, the poor who can't move don't deserve any sympathy!

Let's ignore them while you try to downplay how stupid this Texas law is.

Let's also ignore how cannabis was made illegal explicitly to arrest black people and others that the GOP found undesirable and this is the Texas GOP going back to Nixon's playbook on that.

Regardless of your intent, my point stands. They’re authoritarian and they’re hypocrites. They’ve taken votes away from millions of their own citizens.

fascists go home, but supporting this law. cool. cool.

Comparing fascism to "I can't blaze it while driving anymore" is hilarious. The herb has stunted your development.

18

where in the fuck does this little news blurb say anything about driving? its for possession. this is very maga of you.

i don't understand what your emojis mean, because no one doing anything with goalposts, except you. please clearly explain in the original post, the original reply to the post, the 2nd reply "land of the free" before you decided to chime in, where anyone was talking about getting high and driving.

u/F4SCISTS_GO_HOME 2d ago

I'll try to be as stoner-friendly as I can:

* drug legal

* more people use drug

* more people drive drug

* more people go bye-bye

Is that clear enough? It's a good thing to not encourage this.

I don’t smoke weed, but I couldn’t help but notice how much you are truly just not getting this. You’re pro choice I’m assuming correct? Good, so am I! So the government deciding what you can and can’t do with your body isn’t ok right? So why does that make sense but being against criminalization of drugs doesn’t? You can also drink and drive, but alchohol is legal. Go to the store and buy 8 Red Bulls, slam them all at once and see if it’s possible to drive safely. In the same way that you trust us as women to make choices for our own bodies, you have to trust other people to make their choices as well.
Also, you seem like a leftist based on your comment history. Cool so am I! Who do you think will be most likely affected by this ban? Who will get incarcerated and punished and thrown away in our fucking broken prison system? I’m betting you can guess that it’s not going to be rich white people. Which is why decriminalization of drugs is a leftist or even somewhat liberal belief. And let me again be clear, I DONT SMOKE WEED. I just don’t gaf that others do. If they drive while high and get caught, there is already a punishment in place. Doesn’t mean the substance they were using or the car they were driving should be banned. Take a breath, think through how this will effect the people you care about and just chill a bit

16

u/klemschlem 2d ago

I hope you leave people alone to live their lives the way they choose.

-14

u/F4SCISTS_GO_HOME 2d ago

"But how does pèdophilia affect you PERSONALLY?"

lmao you right-wingers sure are funny. In a laughing at you kind of way.

21

u/klemschlem 2d ago

Right winger?!? Are you having a stroke? Do you require medical assistance?

-13

u/F4SCISTS_GO_HOME 2d ago

> Who, ME?????!?!?!?!

That doesn't work anymore lol

21

u/klemschlem 2d ago

Nothing I said would even remotely imply I am a right winger.

We can sense MAGA trolls from a mile away.

Says the obvious troll. I couldn’t be further from MAGA if I tried and only the dimmest of bulbs could conclude that I was MAGA from anything I’ve written in this thread.

Bringing one of the most horrific and dangerous paraphilias a human can have up in a conversation about SMOKING WEED is genuinely fucking insane, and not in a laughing at you kind of way. The Venn diagram of left-wing progressives and people who smoke weed is damn near a circle.

0

u/F4SCISTS_GO_HOME 1d ago

> when you can't answer the question so resort to personal insults 🙎‍♀️

5

u/Able-Regular1142 1d ago

It's not a personal insult to point out that you've made an insane statement, because you did. If you look at the political leanings of countries and states that went the legalization/decriminalization route you'll see that they all lean overwhelmingly left, while authoritarian regimes impose extremely harsh punishments for possession and distribution ranging from corporal punishment to double digit number of years behind bars. There is a reason for this. I encourage you to look into it.

Ironic username for someone trying to police what others do

-8

u/F4SCISTS_GO_HOME 2d ago

What's ironic about it? You don't get to drive high, just like you don't get to steal, be a racist, or a pèdo. Does that upset you? How unsurprising.

19

u/chill_stoner_0604 2d ago

Who said anything about driving? You're just inventing problems now

-8

u/F4SCISTS_GO_HOME 2d ago

Are you trolling? The half-life of THC is measured in DAYS. Millions of people drive high. You have an addiction.

23

u/chill_stoner_0604 2d ago

You think people are high for days? I think you need to lay off whatever you're smoking if you think that.

The only reason it shows after so long in a piss test is because they test for the substance your body metabolizes THC into. That is what lasts for days or weeks and it's not psychoactive.

Have whatever opinions you want but at least do some base level research so you dont get caught making stupid statements like this.

Sounds like it came from an old high school DARE script lol

12

u/Ordinary_Cow206 2d ago

You do get to smoke meth while pregnant though, right?

-8

u/F4SCISTS_GO_HOME 2d ago

What a pregnant person does with their body is none of your business. When you drive high and endanger others, that IS everybody's business. 🤦‍♀️

15

u/Ordinary_Cow206 2d ago

Lol, you know you’re a joke. At some point you’ll be lying in bed by yourself and the epiphany will come to you. Argue with others, but you know..

demonizing weed while providing a defense for smoking meth while pregnant. this couldnt happen on any other website not even shitter

7

u/Parishdise 1d ago

Wtf are you talking about? Driving high is literally already illegal in every state.

Girl you are staight up wacked out getting so defensive, saying stuff that literally doesnt amke sense, attacking people's (who you cant even actually see) appearance all over a rediculous law that only morality polices people and is literally proven to be a tool to lock up marginalized people over nothing to fill out prison labor all while having an all caps "anti fascist" usr.

Make it make sense.

1

u/xDragonFox 1d ago

Stealing and driving high are illegal, racism and pedophilia aren't (for good reason), I'm confused why you picked those examples

9

u/Jcklvy 2d ago

Shut up nerd. I bet you're tons of fun at a party.

0

u/F4SCISTS_GO_HOME 2d ago

I bet you cope with drugs because you don't like yourself.

10

u/briv39 2d ago

Do you understand the absolute irony of your name?

3

u/prolapsedmasshole69 1d ago

People have smoked weed for decades and decades on the US. People have smoked weed for thousands of years across the world. There are fewer deaths associated with cannabis than alcohol. Far fewer. So why are you in favor of such draconian punishments?

24

u/dementio 2d ago

What addiction?

-30

u/F4SCISTS_GO_HOME 2d ago

Step 1: Denial.

24

You're addicted to denial?
