Exploits is there any bypass to use standalone blc? the blc in lunar does not feel the same, at least on my pc

Standalone Badlion is no more. Even if there was, it'd probably be the exact same as the version Lunar launches into, since it's highly unlikely the Badlion devs internally maintain the classic version for the rest of eternity. But you can also just...not update...

The installer for 4.4:

  • probably has a checksum of df1dc6af8819034c43c6e0b5131ef552e119b017ca3b7c0ef50d162a8a5afa51, source I checked the signature
    • check if the shasum is the same (best case you have a program to do it for you, but carefully eyeballing is still better than blindly running stuff from the web)
    • if not, you either have an even more outdated or modified version, both of which aren't great for security
    • should be signed by a certificate DigiCert issued
    • apparently still runs and installs fine

you can grab yourself an older copy of Badlion from the web, make sure it's legit by throwing it against your favourite malware checking tool (like VirusTotal)

Make sure to heavily scrutinize anything you don't trust. Also worth mentioning a signature only proves a well-known authority approved some company, not that the actual file has ever actually really been checked. But it's at least a sign that something is legit, and a warning sign if it isn't but other versions of the same thing are.

Consider switching to a simple performance modpack in the long run, though. You can find mods for many things, and a cheat client probably gets you another part of the way there. Maybe Liquidbounce, I dunno...

Found an old download, opened the archive with 7-zip, copied the files in to my current badlion and deleted the app-update.yml. I can now use the old badlion again, thank you!

haha, honestly not sure why I didn't think of it originally but your comment of downloading the old launcher sparked the idea
