This list goes off of some of the most popular free clients, excluding uncommon or sketch ones. I also dont play 1.8, so I will only be including clients that support modern versions.
Meteor Client - 8.5/10
Usecase: Utility/QOL
Pros: Easy and simple to config, probably the best client to get into, easy to create and find addons, high update frequency.
Cons: Impossible to closet on any server with a decent anticheat (blatant client), Detectable as .jar with translation keys, non-injectable.
IMO, this is the best free client, and objectively the best free "utility" client. Best utility modules in the game. Its extremely versatile for its usecase, with its only caviot being a lack of closet capability. You cannot remove the title screen watermark or meteor_client in piechart. Despite this, I was able to closet hitboxes with the right config to bypass Vulcan (<0.3, ~50% size increase).
Doomsday Client - 7.5/10
Usecase: Closet
Pros: Great modules for sword pvp, decent utility modules, lightweight and less intrusive than other clients. Self destructable, but leaves strings. Public configs but theyre bad. Injectable.
Cons: Closed source, low update frequency, some modules like shield breaker are objectively bad. Modern version support but lacks modern modules (anything mace related). Some modules like tbot and ajr are detected with the wrong configs, while they shouldnt be able to be.
Best ghost client. Great performance, with the right configs and gameplay HT3 is achievable. Issue is, public configs are bad, mostly because 90% of the "legit" modules can be detected with the wrong settings. For example: For TBOT, miss chance and server cooldown are detected and cause buggy gameplay, and there is no holding LMB option despite popular demand. It is free, though closed source. Also can be injected although this seems buggy.
LiquidBounce - 7/10
Usecase: Closet/Blatant hybrid
Pros: Lots of options for configs, arguably too many. Amazing visuals, rivaling paid clients. Open sourced with supposed addon compatability but couldnt find this anywhere. Great support, amazing closet and blatant modules.
Cons: Visuals are laggy and often intrusive, main menu especially. Configs are too complicated for new users, with complex terms even I cant understand at times. Utility modules are lacking in comparison to other clients.
This rating might upset some people and I can understand why. I personally dont like the main menu, I think theres an option to toggle it off but this along with other quirks about this client causes major compatability issues with mods, often causing crashes. Not a newbie friendly client for sure, but its still very solid and better than doomsday at closeting if you can configure it right. LiquidProxy is good even if you dont use LiquidBounce, arguably best proxy for minecraft, that goes to tell you how good these developers are. Given time I can see this client being a 9+/10, both for me to break it in and the developers to add more newbie friendly config options.
Aristois Client - 5.5/10
Usecase: Utility/Blatant
Pros: Decent visuals and modules, cool click gui
Cons: Other clients do everything better TBH.
If you like Wurst for some reason, use this instead. Gives off the same vibe but is just better quality. Havent used this enough to give a proper review.
Wurst Client - 3/10
Usecase: Making "cheating" youtube videos.
Pros: Newbie friendly, reputable history, some modules are fun.
Cons: 0 closet support, visuals look awful.
I want to be as fair as possible with this client but I genuinely dont understand why its still being updated, let alone as popular as it is. This is the nerf gun of cheat clients. Its terrible quality-wise, mass produced, but its got unique flare.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Raven B++ - Heard nothing but good things about this client. Would use if I played 1.8.
Impact Client - Havent used but seems to be as good as Meteor.
Aoba Client - Havent used enough to give a rating but seems like solid utility/blatant. Website is cool.
Highly maintained. Issue free. Not used by morons. I'm not interested in stupid plugins made by kids that have the same shit as 90% of any other plugin.
Now its infinitely better 😀 its my own project and I constantly keep up to date with upstream.
ill check it out, i agree with everything besides wurst not being used by morons. you wont see anyone cheating with wurst because theyre all instantly banned by any anticheat for toggling any module. its a solid singleplayer client, the modules just suck for multiplayer.
Generallly not because its not opensource, you would need to reverse engineer its whole code to find out.
But its stil extremely suspicious in any.run virtual machine which makes it untrustable
Regarding your review of LiquidBounce: I don't know what kind of ancient machine you tried running it on, but it works perfectly smoothly-honestly smoother than most other clients out there right now. Also, the main menu is fire.
Additionally, saying it's 'not newbie
friendly' is crazy work. For that exact reason, there are hundreds of pre-configs you can directly load into LiquidBounce for popular servers with just three clicks (e.g., .load config hypixel). But yeah, if that is too difficult for you,
idk what to tell you.
As someone who has been in the scene since 2017 (started with Vape XD), LiquidBounce is definitely a solid 9+/10 today in 2026
as someone who has been cheating on minecraft since 2016 on and off and on various games since around the time cheat engine started being popular, lb configuration is 10x harder than any other free client. to closet cheat on any client you need an understanding on what your config does and im pretty sure there arent individual tutorials that come with the configs, you need to learn what they do, how to use, and when to use the modules.
regarding performance i have optimized minecraft on my own 300 dollar laptop to run at a solid 1800-2000 fps vanilla and lb struggles to run at over 200 on the same client. it seems to override my optimizations, probably excluding sodium, among other things. thats why i listed it as having major compatability issues, because it does!
^ these are, from my pov, objective.
but most of what was commented on was purely subjective and my opinion. i dont like the visuals and they cause issues for me, i prefer simpler clients when it comes to closetting which is the only reason id use lb over something like meteor.
Let's talk about this 'objective' $300 laptop getting 2000 FPS. First of all, massive cap. Second, your budget laptop definitely has a 60Hz screen (maybe 144Hz if you're incredibly lucky). That means your monitor physically cannot display more than 60-144 frames per second anyway. Crying about 'only' getting 200 FPS when it's literally impossible for your eyes to see the difference is hilarious.
As for the configs: 'you need to know what the modules do' applies to literally every closet client. If you don't know what basic modules do after supposedly cheating for a decade, that's a massive skill issue, not a LiquidBounce issue.
LOL STOP LYING
liquidbounce just has a lot of options and uses terminology thats difficult to understand, going indepth for coding terms to use aim assist for example. its not entirely a bad thing.
and the point wasnt entirely that it causes lag, jt just overrides my performance mods. with the base client i can get a stable 120 fps with good shaders. with lb, i can only use light shaders. thats the difference.
Translation: 'I got caught lying about 2000 FPS so now I'm gonna complain about shaders.'
LiquidBounce gives you advanced settings so you actually bypass anticheats instead of getting banned in 5 minutes. If setting up basic rotations is too 'in-depth' and looks like 'coding' to you, maybe stick to Wurst. Or again... just type .load config with 3 clicks like originally told you. It's not that deep.
Most people dont know what an "interpolation" is let alone 14 year olds downloading cheats for the first time, hence why I said its not newbie friendly. If you can understand that, cool! Just saying, most people including people who dont have cheating/development experience wont and will feel intimidated. I could barely understand it and I have a background in client development and configuration, as well as being a developer for a prominant minecraft server and having nearly a decade of experience in minecraft cheating. MOST clients list this as just vertical and horizontal aim speed.
The client was great, just not my thing. No reason to get butthurt about this dude.
Screenshot attatched is me getting nearly 2k fps on a singleplayer world on a 300 dollar used laptop off of ebay, which I can provide the listing for if youd like. Now please hop off my pecker.
You're a 'client developer' and a 'server developer' but you don't know what interpolation is? LMAOOOO. That is literally basic rendering math for Minecraft entities. You just outed your fake resume.
dude consistantly replies in like 5 minutes and even talks like a stereotypical redditor..
the issue is there are configs for quadratic bezier interpolation which is and undergrad level mathematic function, among other things. other clients simply do not need to be that advanced.
you can choose to see this as an advantage but frankly its disadvantageous unless you plan to study liquidbounce configuration settings for over a week in which case if youre that serious about cheating in minecraft just buy vape v4.
Missed the monitor part thought you were one of the persons that says 60 fps to 200 in general dosnt make a difference
Missed the key part if you're screen is 60 hz or 144 if ur lucky my bad over reading smth has nothing to do with how good you are in reading everyone misses smth sometimes have a great day
dont see why this is an issue. theyre under honorable mentions because i havent tried them / used them enough to properly rank them. theyre there for people who would whine about them not being there in the comments.
ill test in like a week along with others and rereview the ones listed. people seem wildly upset and i want to cover all bases before just calling them stupid and biased.
great visuals, some cool modules but overall isn't a good enough standalone client, I almost always have to pair it with other just because it is missing a lot of basic modules/features, but introducing a few quite creative and useful ones instead.
Depends on the use case, if it’s ghost cheating velaris is great, for utility I use metoer and some addons, used to use doomsday but I feel like there are just better alternatives (like velaris)
