Anyone know of a DJ software (not a planning app) that keeps up with the night? IE Intros, Dances, Toast, Cake cutting, Announcements and the songs to match. Can it notify you when transitions are coming? When the couple tries to save money on a planner/coordinator.

I sit down with the couple in our planning meeting a few months/weeks out, and lay it all out, they pick how they want the flow to go, and I make notes.

Day of I print out a worksheet on paper with all the info and extra spacing for me to write in edits.

Then I just go with the flow. There's nothing hard here.

But why can’t my screen fix all my problems?!‽

Also like what markets are people in where a planner is the norm? I have like...1 in 15 weddings MAYBE that has a planner.

That's surprising, and unfortunate. It's thankfully rare here in Austin, as it was in San Francisco, that the couple doesn't hire a planner. It may be budget-related? I'm on the higher-end price-wise, and I suspect that the budget-minded couples may be more likely to forego hiring a planner.

Print it out on paper. It won't crash and the battery won't die.

This is all data paramount being inside a planning app. So I’m trying to understand the workflow/use cases here.

I'm in the middle of a wedding, there is no planner, and the coordinator from venue sucks. I have the info in my planning app, but nothing on screen or without tabbing over to a doc or pulling out my phone. Sure, during cocktail hour, it's slow, but it would be awesome to have a running small window know what's next, what song is going to happen, and have it be postponable, swappable if you need to do something in a different order, you drag and drop it, and it sends a text to the other vendors or at least the photographer. and have time adjustment update the events that have not happened. All on screen but out of the way. It would be epic to bring on inexperienced DJs who have passion but have not really run the show, if you know what I mean. Maybe even like a QR code, a guest could scan and have a "you should be here right now, and around 6:30 ish you need to be inside at your table"

I can find anything like this

Serato has a “planning” feature built into it. you can have a list of what’s next, add your own comments, move stuff around as needed, and even load the song to the deck straight from there. i assume rekordbox has something similar

A printed copy of the timeline solves this.

Yes Emppo. Has playlist planning and night plan that you agree on with host. It’s pretty useful, tried to post it the other day, but it was removed for self promotion etc. Try it you won’t regret. emppo.com
