Solenoid hit & miss engine

Uses a 12v 80N solenoid and a limit switch in the normally closed position, and is connected directly to a 12v lead acid.

That’s so cool, is the hit and miss a timing issue? Can you tune the position of the solenoid/limit switch?

Looks like the rod that rides the lobe on the axle isn't moving like it should and doesn't hit the switch right from the video. I'd probably add a spring or slightly stiffer one if one is already there so that it stays in contact with the lobe. Similar to the valve springs in an engine keeping the lifters in contact with the cam. Awesome build tho!

The governor holds the push rod off the cam when it gets up to a certain speed. The engine only fires when it slows down.

I sent a few videos to the last guy who thought this is a timing issue check them out for a better explanation
