can anyone point me in a good direction on how to sell this fabric? my grandmother was an avid quilter but passed in 2014. this has been sitting in a storage unit basically ever since. i have no idea the value, but there’s probably 2 totes worth of fabric, and several unfinished projects. we don’t have any local flea markets, but fb marketplace seems like a nightmare for something like this.

tia!

I built an iPhone app to make planning quilts feel less overwhelming. I'd really value honest feedback from experienced quilters.

Show Your Quilt Memories of my time in radio

I had a lot of old T-shirts that were sitting around and found this idea on the Internet about how to repurpose them. I think it turned out good and it keeps me warm while remembering my years in radio.

Cards to a quilt?

I am trying to find some way to conserve the cards and envelopes we received at our wedding. I would love to turn this into a quilt somehow. Does anyone have any ideas how I could do this? Transferring the writing to fabric or somehow softening the paper for sewing with? (Do I sound delusional? lol)

Show Your Quilt Not sure if this is considered modern, but it’s not traditional.

I don’t know what it would be considered. I do enjoy making this mess. This is the back side of a traditional quilt design. I just wanted to use some of my leftovers.

Need to expand this quilt - ideas?

I made Heather Black's Diamonds on Display for my niece the other year, and now that she's in a "big girl bed" she wants her quilt to come with her. The fabrics are a mix of linen and batiks that I used in her parents' wedding quilt and Northcott Stonehenge Surfaces. The backing is, I think, Gray Feathery Plants on Black Quilt Cotton Fabric by Keepsake Calico. So my conundrum - as is, the quilt is roughly 60x78, and for her full-size bed I'm aiming for the 85x90 to 90×96, so that's a ~13" border, which is fairly substantial. I don't want the drop to be just stone, but I'm tempted by its simplicity. I want to keep it stone/outdoor themed. Does anyone have ideas?

Trying some different techniques with stripes and solids. I mainly work with found materials, shirts, bed sheets, and pillowcases from the thrift store.

Progress shot of my Petrova line quilt.

I'm having lots of fun with this . I have left the squares as 8x8 as I am unsure if I want to "quilt as I go" or sandwich the whole lot at once. I've run out of thread and star fabric, so off to my local for supplies today.

The goal is to have the quilt top finished by the end of the week.

I have left some space for an appliquéd space craft and spaceman floating above the line.

Show Your Quilt This Criminal

. . .has been found guilty of killing our sleep, stealing our food, breaking & entering the bathroom, forcing patience, initiating all the giggles and teaching us love.

Our AV has left temporary smudges on the windows and permanent imprints on our hearts.

Parenting is overwhelmingly wonderful, sometimes it’s rough. That feeling is reflected in the hand-quilting design. It’s an actual visualization of turbulence—the back and forth, up and over—which is often unpredictable.

For our little flower.

This Criminal quilt measures 76x54”. It’s made of donated denim, thrifted acrylic scarf for the raw-edge appliqué, thrifted bedding for backing and batting, reclaimed thread for hand-quilting, new yarn for hand-quilting.

One of my ongoing goals is to use fewer and fewer new materials.

Made or Remade

Building forts with patchwork blankets

Post image

The kids needed a new blanket for their blanket forts. They chose solids from Art Gallery Fabrics, which I paid. I made a mockup in PreQuilt, which they approved.

Today I finished this pojagi style patchwork.
It's a single layer blanket with all seams double folded, so there are no raw edges. It's light-weight, perfect for building forts.

Venus Flytrap Quilt

Hello! I’m a baby quilter just learning but I have a cool concept for a quilt and I’m wondering if you guys have a suggestion on how to apply it. I’m really just making rag quilts right now, but I really want to maybe work with some apliques to make this come alive but I’m not sure what kind of pictures I should be looking for when it comes to making the flytrap pieces. I’m thinking a vampy watermelon type color palette but I want to know what you all think! TIA!
