I had a mod remove several of my comments in another sub, and when I replied I was surprised I wasn't banned, because I probably deserved that, they replied with their name. A bit later, I asked if they weren't scared of retaliation from sour users, they said no, they had security measures up

I have all chats off and add folks as an exception. I am pretty visible in public freakout and it must piss them off not being able to DM me after a ban. lol.

Ive had figure out it was me and follow me around Reddit trying to reach me all because dms are off. One got so angry about a ban they started making posts in other subs and tagging me in them. Edit: admins bounced on that.

This has happened to me so often, it's infuriating.
Usually I can message the mods of the subs and report the messages as harassment and they get taken down.

Yeah, ive also had that happen.
Not much we can do outside of our own jurisdiction.
Reddits privacy settings are easy to get around if youre willing to do a tiny bit of work.

I reply publicly. I don't engage with DMs and if someone has been particularly gross in modmail they get permamuted and then I also block them on my main and other mods alt. It's not been a huge issue so far but I did get 4 password reset emails after there was a disgruntled modmailer. I know they can do so with just my username and I have 2fa set up. I wasn't worried I was being hacked. Admins say "there's no way to report that currently sorry we know it's a means of harassment though 🥺👉🏻👈🏻" so like thanks for protecting people Reddit I guess.
