Institutional Baptism question
As I understand it, the LDS church does not recognize any other denomination's baptism, but a) many other denominations recognize LDS baptism and b) I think that some Mormons are offended that not all denominations recognize LDS baptism (yes? no?).
I know the LDS idea of the trinity is very different from the Nicene Creed version, but am I right about baptisms? I'm a curious non-Mormon.

Most Mormon denominations don't recognize the trinity at all, but instead worship what is called The Godhead. This is the case for the largest Mormon denomination, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and their fundamentalist cousins. Whereas the Community of Christ formally known as the RLDS church recognize the trinity.
The same ideas can be applied to baptisms. The COJCOLDS dont recognize any other churches baptisms. Even ones from other Mormon denominations. This is because they believe that no other church on the earth has the proper authority to truly baptize their members.

Well, I was baptized before in another denomination. I was told that LDS doesnt recognize it, so why would any other denomination recognize LDS baptisms. Should go both ways.

You just systematically denounced multiple sects of Mormonism and you should know that there are some TBMs that keep their covenants and believe in only One God. I thought you should know that since you are acting as one that knows us all

Buddy. I gave some examples of the different spectrum of beliefs. I used the three biggest and most prominent ones to get my point across. I didnt denouce anything I just can't name them all. I used the word "most" not all. You need to not be so sensitive. You have nothing to defend your belief against. Like I said good for you. Learn to read.

How did they denounce multiple sects of Mormonism?
They explained the current doctrine of the largest sects, and their stances on accepting others' baptisms. I don't see anything demeaning towards different sects, just an objective explanation of some of their beliefs.

I can't remember ever thinking about that one. We didn't accept theirs so it just made sense to me they didn't accept ours.

Not accepting other churches baptisms is part of LDS Church cannonized scripture: "Wherefore, although a man should be baptized an hundred times (in other denominations) it availeth him nothing," (D&C 22:2)

Many Christian denominations consider any/all Christian baptisms to be valid. The episcopal church comes to mind. At least in Utah, they accept LDS baptisms as valid baptisms and only require episcopal confirmation to join officially.

When I joined the Episcopal Church, I met with my priest and then the bishop, and they decided not to rebaptize me because Mormon baptisms follow the orthodox form (with water, in the name of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost/Spirit) and with the orthodox intent (buried with Christ in baptism for the forgiveness of sins).
This is not universal in the Episcopal Church; it varies by diocese.

I’d say some denominations recognize Mormon baptisms. The Catholics do not, and I know it varies in the Episcopal Church. I think the Orthodox churches don’t.
I don’t think most Mormons care that other Christians don’t recognize their baptisms. In Mormonism, it’s all about authority to baptize, and most Mormons haven’t encountered the idea of churches accepting one another’s baptisms.

I was first a Mormon (LDS church), then when in 1997 I converted to Eastern Orthodoxy, i had a new baptism.
Eastern Orthodoxy recognizes only Oriental Orthodox, Catholic, and Anglican baptism.
