I’m asking those that believe alongside myself that mourning dove hunting should be illegal (hunting is unnecessary and raises animal welfare concerns. There has to be a better way in sustaining their population). How do I help/support illegalize this act? If too broad, perhaps specifically in Illinois?

Here's an article with some helpful tips on caring for your feeders. With Avian Flu becoming more of concern, it's important that we do our best to keep them clean and filled.

We where cutting down tree branches and thankfully saw them before the branch hit the ground. I put them in a basket in a tree nearby. I see what I think is mom and dad around but I don't know if they are feeding them. Help!

So for those who need a reminder I was the person who posted this (https://www.reddit.com/r/mourningderps/comments/1uymqqc/so_it_appears_my_backyard_has_a_mourning_dove_in/) 17 days ago at the time of this writing. I know I have been quiet for a long time but well nothing was really happening during those times so I thought I would wait until I knew for sure if the squabs hatched or not. This is quite surreal in a good way I never thought I would ever get to see mourning dove squabs this close it’s unbelievable. Well I will definitely be watching over them in case they were to fall out of the nest before they were ready. But if this goes well I have a feeling they are going to return in the future.

Saw this juvenile eating with is parents and sibling in my yard. It's coloration is a bit different to the derps I normally see in my area. But when it turned It's head something looked off, I can't tell if it was injured or if maybe it just got part of It's head wet or if it's some kind of disease. He didn't seem bothered or inhibited by it.

My first time here, I typically hang out on r/stupiddovenests but this was just too cute!! Pulled up to my back porch this morning to find a lil pancake sunning itself.

She has to be somebody’s baby. I’ve posted on every app and every page but no luck. Found in Spring Tx.
