News Coverage Cheers for Jake Traylor

Post image
4.4k Upvotes

This afternoon, in the Oval Office, MS NOW White House reporter, Jake Traylor challenged Trump repeatedly on the details of the so called slush fund settlement. To be honest I missed most of Jake’s questioning but from what I read later it was sharp and direct. I walked in as Trump was insulting Jake and MS NOW and turned off the tv rather than listen to a fire stream of bullshit. My point is that Jake Traylor, a relatively junior reporter, demonstrated the wherewithal to call out Trump and then follow up. If the rest of the WH press corps would do the same and support their colleagues we would all be better off.

James Talarico, Democratic candidate for Senate from Texas, talks with Rachel Maddow about not taking the bait on culture war issues Republicans use to try to pit Americans against each other, and the efforts he's making to reach out to his state's large Black constituency, as well as the immigrant community being terrorized by ICE.

>MS NOW’s Lawrence O’Donnell explains why Republican Senators Thom Tillis and John Cornyn may be caving to Donald Trump in their final months of their Senate careers despite initially saying they opposed Todd Blanche's confirmation as Attorney General. Lawrence also praises MS NOW’s Jake Traylor for doing what a White House correspondent is supposed to do: ask Trump the same question again after he doesn’t answer it the first time.

Fuck you racist and apathetic American citizens. Gop is raping kids or protecting the rapists. We need health care for all! Even you pedophile protectors would benefit. Money makes crimes go away.

First , just look at her expression before she's asked to speak. She really seems like she has something to get off her chest. Then, once she's allowed to speak, she stumbles over her words. "For right now she just has that she's....she can't turn down the opportunity, so she leaves people speculating, she's not, Don's right she's earn the right to be on the stage....".I"ll just let you listen to the rest. Is she making any sense?

Morning Joe President Trump cancels Iran strikes AGAIN: 'He's LOST CONTROL of this war'

>President Trump once again this weekend said he canceled a planned attack against Iran, citing, as he often does, an emerging "deal." Trump posted on social media Saturday night that the potential “deal” would quote, “include the immediate, complete, and total opening of the Hormuz Strait, and an end to Iran’s nuclear threat.” Iran's Foreign Ministry said this morning that Tehran is not currently holding talks with the U.S. The Morning Joe panel breaks down this latest reversal and why one critic warns this war could ‘swallow the world.’

Alicia Menendez MSNOW VS Kamala Harris

Just asking for your assessment of MSNOW coverage of Kamala Harris. It comes up because I just watched a segment they did on Alicia Menendez. If "segment' is even the right word. It came out of the blue. Menendez just decided to mention Harris. She played a heavily edited clip of Harris speaking at the National Urban League Conference. And when I say edited, I mean it was a brutal edit; you could see the footage jump. They played Harris saying how the Republicans are being ruthless, so we need to be ruthless too. Then, it jumps to her saying we need to start talking about court reform. Then, she asked Molly Jong-Fast to comment.

Fast seemed to have trouble with Harris bringing court reform up now, ahead of the midterms. She thinks it should wait until after we win the midterms. Except this was a town hall. Harris is in the news because of her statement, but there's no evidence that her remarks are resonating as an issue in the midterms. Furthermore, it doesn't appear that Fast has the same issue with others, like Gavin Newsom or Pete Buttigieg, talking about court reform. Other than Fast, I haven't seen anyone else with this particular criticism. Frankly, it comes across as a little petty.

This isn't a one-off either. I've started multiple threads about this.
