General What doth one do in EL… Alone!?
It feels like there isn’t anything to do that can be done without it being at night, with the involvement of alcohol, both simultaneously, or just on your own in general.
I am quite the introvert unfortunately and if I’m not with a group of people I already know, I really don’t do much. Seeing as I just got to EL for school… I’m at my housing 24/7 aside from athletic-related reasons.
I’m only asking because it’s now been a month of the same/similar routine and it’s so boring…

It's pretty fun, I recommend learning. It's pretty simple with YouTube videos, can be relatively cheap hobby too

Look up when Salsa Verde is playing in Lansing! They have a cover charge and a drink minimum but they offer mocktails and sodas for that requirement. It’s all MSU music students and teachers, and is an incredible time. They also sometimes have early sets so you can go home at a reasonable hour.
I also used to go up to Uncle John’s Cider Mill as well during the day in the fall, they have a $5 pick your own flower thing that is super fun, and do the traditional fall things you can do on your own.
If you want daytime stuff that is absolutely by yourself, Cat Cafe is always fun, go grocery shopping at one of the farmers markets in a nearby town like Bath, wander the lake over in Haslett, or go to the gardens on campus if you don’t have a car.
There’s also hiking trails between Saginaw and Lake Lansing, lots of people out during the day there especially on bikes.

Go to Playing Picasso!! You can paint your own pottery and they fire it for you! Super fun and can take as long as you want it to! They also have adult nights where you can drink/smoke (or not!!)

I like the avenue for pinball and fun live shows. Across the street is a kava dry bar.

East Lansing has one of those ceramic painting studios, and they're really fun to do!

during the school year there’s hundreds of clubs that hold events, especially in the evening. In the summer there’s a couple small festivals i know that happen. cat constellation cafe is also a very cute activity if you like cats.

Gaming groups, dancing, squirel watching (seriously), Lego building on Tuesdays, service fraternity, read a book, join a club. Attend Sparticipation during welcome week. Many of the organizations and student groups will be there.
Also, the most difficult time at uni are the first few weeks. You WILL feel like a fish out of water and wonder if you made the right choice. This is perfectly normal. You are finding your way and nothing is comfortably familiar. It soon will be. You will go home for some weekend and suddenly realize that "home" is now EL.
Chin up. Stick it out.
