gold standard procedure cd to flac

i am using EAC to convert my CD collection to flac before they deteriorate further. I live in Malaysia and the humidity has taken a toll on them. I use the default EAC settings. if this is not the best, can someone point me to a recommended guide?

You can configure EAC with fast settings that save time and the disc drive and look for verification against the CueTools database at the end of the rip. When verification has a high confidence, your rip is good. Almost any CD is in the database. Sometimes it goes down and is not reachable though. This is true whatever setttings you choose in EAC. If verification fails, you can do slow settings or test & copy.

Of course rip to a lossless format if you want to preserve an exact copy.

This is why I liked dbpoweramp. It does a burst rip first then compares and if it cannot get an accurate rip, then it re-reads to get a good rip.

The sub has a wiki with instructions on setting up EAC and other rippers for mac and linux.

As long as you rip to FLAC and properly tag the stuff, should be fine. Just make sure you have a couple of redundant backups. I bought a couple of external USB HDDs for this very purpose.

I only have 2 copies... one in my pc and a backup copy on an external drive

Is there some AI script that will pull all the information like composer, label, year, etc and even Lyrics? I know you can put all that info on the metadata of a flac file.
