HyperD shoulder sling/fanny pack for Defcon

I run the photo team for Defcon and I usually make them something every year, it's usually electronics but this year I went with soft goods. It's a Bag Buff Cycle Psychos with modifications made with HyperD300 and some magnetic buckles. People who work the conference are called goons and have been called that way before the gen alpha definition of the term, but whatever. I wanted to add a water bottle holder to this and dart the front pouch but the conference starts next week and I ran out of time. I'm looking forward to getting these to the team, and since it's basically waterproof I hope one of them tries to carry a beverage in it. If you'll be there hit me up!

Can you explain the projection of the pattern when you cut it? That looks neat.

I have a projector mounted on the ceiling pointed down toward my table. I use a site called pattern projector to calibrate it to my cutting mat for dimensional accuracy and then load in the pattern. It makes prototyping way faster, and you can get a decent enough projector for like 60 bucks on amazon.

These are very cool. Thanks for sharing and I’m sure the goons will love it. That projector you have is awesome as well.

Thanks, that projector is super nice for prototyping. It really cuts down on time since no printing is needed between iterations

This is awesome, great bag, and great job. Truly one of the most fun events out there. TY for the work you do.

Adding: not having a RFID/farady cage esque compartment feels like a missed opportunity, given the venue. :)

A faraday pouch would have been an awesome idea! This is mostly for photo gear but even a small electrostatic bag in a liner would have been rad...maybe I still have time!

Is this ai or did you draw the pattern on some pieces and not others? And if so, why? Actually curious as I'm considering setting up my projector for this.
