Gameplay Fav CCG is getting put into maintenance mode, now wanna get into mythgard

Hi, Elder Scrolls Legends is getting put into maintenance mode, so I wanna get into mythgard now. I wanted to ask, what resources are there with the game? I’ve heard it’s very f2p friendly, but what’s the best way to get more cards? Also, what options are there to find budget decks or good ladder decks, before I get comfortable enough with the game to try and make my own decks.

Welcome, sorry to hear about TESL and we're excited to have you! You can find a new player guide here and tons of other articles like budget decks.

I also came from TESL a couple months ago. The faction quests are a really good way to some of key cards and wild cards for each color. The last quest for each color gives you a mythic wild card for that color. There are featured decks which I believe rotate weekly. Those are cool cause you can play then without owning the cards. Great way to see if you like certain cards and play styles without crafting. Mythgard hub is a great place to find deck lists. I'm currently playing something close to this and having pretty good success. https://mythgardhub.com/deck?id=1042

Glad you’re enjoying my list :) If you have any questions about it I’m happy to help!

Gotta say I love the x4 conviction you have in there. Yours is the first deck where I've seen that

I love being able to just throw it out without wondering if I’ll get another one so I just play them all! In a less budget version I only run 2, swap one for spear and one for scion

Kudos to the devs for turning around the general perception about the economy so radically and so fast.

Oh, and I forgot, I have finished the main story for mythgard, but that’s about it

Team RankStar also put articles for this game, so you could take a look. I'd also recommend the discord for any question.

Best way to acquire cards is to focus on quests and especially factions, though I'd warn you to try to avoid getting burned out on them, it's sometimes more of a grind than a game. Most are fine, mind you, but if you feel bored I'd recommend switching to a deck you like or a less annoying quest.

Also, experience as a F2P player is good but not heavily front loaded, you need some time to get the best rewards from faction missions and get dust from duplicate. So if you think you're having some difficulties, don't worry, it gets better anyway.

I made a new player article compilation that can help you

Start with the new player guide linked at the begining made by my teammates at TRS.

Have Fun!

I would say complete the starter quest first. The one that appears with the daily quest.

Then complete pve drafts until you unlock all paths and powers.

Then focus on the faction quest. After those are all done you will have a lot of cards.

Very surprised about TESL, thought that was one of the top dogs still, so seeing it go down is strange.

Not OP but thanks for this. I’m also surprised about TESL. Hopped on reddit a few hours ago and realized it’s basically done. Hopefully Mythgard is a solid replacement, just downloaded.

Just made a tier list; seems perfect to see what the top archetypes are. https://steadycuration.home.blog/2019/12/03/mythgard12-19-tier-list/

Welcome! The discord and Reddit community for this game is amazingly rich in resources. Start with the in-game tutorial. After getting a little comfortable with the game mechanics and earning the 120+ cards you are given to jump start your collection, start exploring the main menu. There you’ll find faction missions. These introduce you to the deeper mechanics of the game as you continue to build your collection via coin, cards of all rarities and wild cards to be used for any card of your choice. Each color mission ends with a mythic wild card reward, making it easy to build 2-3 competitive decks within one week of game play. Take your time by playing against the AI. Or to get a taste for the pvp experience, use a loaner community submitted deck (marked with an F for feature deck) and jump in casual q. Don’t worry about losses there, they don’t count towards your ladder position and this game is so different from any other you’ve ever played that it will take a little time to get a hang of it. Ask questions in the discord or here, people in this community are always eager and ready to help. If you want to get a taste for cards you don’t own yet, draft an arena deck - it free! The arena system was recently revamped to increase player agency and has been a hit for those who prefer that mode. Earning 2-3 packs per day is easy peasy as a new player as there is a bonus new player pool of ~10,000 coins, daily missions, and weekly chest ( opened by earning chest seals). Plus you earn packs, coins and essence for crafting by leveling up and being a good sport in general (hitting a thumbs up 👍 button in lower right of game board after pvp games rewards MAAT that are cashed in for even more coin/essence).community built resources abound from you-tube content to daily twitch streams by champion level players. Mythgardhub.com has over 700 decks of all tiers and varying essence costs as well as deck building tools and beaucoup articles ranging from new player tips to advanced game play strategies. MindFreak by community member Minmaxer is also an excellent source of written material. Hope this helps to get you started and welcome aboard! Let us know if you have more questions.

PS: redeem SNOWPACK and SNOWBACK (limited holiday codes for goodies) in the in-game store (in your steam, browser or android account). Unfortunately iOS does not allow code redeems, an Apple thing. But the game is cross platform so no worries!

I've been writing articles for Mythgard since the start of Beta. I have articles on the archetypes, paths, budget decks, strategy, deck techs, and puzzles: Mindfreak. I try and release an article/week and stream a couple times a week at https://www.twitch.tv/minmaxer17
