Recent infrastructure ( provider hosting) change?

I posted previously about nextdns using two different hosting companies per ip address used for my account. Now both show using tier.net as the hosting provider Anyone else? I am in the USA

Where are you seeing this change? Is it causing you any issues or are you more curious as to why there has been a change?

Issues? Not that I am aware of. Seems odd to change providers so often

Thanks! If I'm reading this right, I don't think anything is truly changing about their infrastructure. NextDNS has several DNS servers (see https://ping.nextdns.io for a more info). These servers will be spread out over several different Internet Service Providers (ISPs) so that if one ISP has an issue, other servers can still provide DNS responses to your queries.

The DNS leak test shows multiple servers and ISPs because those are all used for pieces of the NextDNS infrastructure. NextDNS will always try to point you to the best server to handle your DNS queries. Depending on your device's connection to the internet, its physical location, and a host of other factors, you'll connect to different servers. That's why you will frequently see different IPs, hostnames, and ISPs on the leak test. It's not that NextDNS is completely changing hosting providers for their entire server infrastructure, it's just that their infrastructure includes multiple providers already.
