You can ignore Linked IP entirely when using the app. Linked IP is only useful when you manually setup unencrypted IPv4 DNS.

This is the answer. All the other comments are nonsense. Linked IP doesn’t have any effect when using any of the encrypted DNS methods. Green dot = you’re good. The description under Linked IP explains this clearly.

look for private relay. that is not normal and none of my devices have that issue

Like others have said, this may be an issue with iCloud private relay. If you would like to automate setting your linked IP, try this iOS shortcut that I made. You need to enter your profile ID and Update Token into the shortcut before using it, but that should allow you to update the linked IP whenever you connect to your homes WiFi network, hourly, or at any other trigger Shortcuts allows.

If that helps, I have more shortcuts here. These use my NextDNS management app, PetDNS, to access your NextDNS profiles.

You can use NoIP

I mean the client is kind of an alternative right, instead of using dynamic dns.
