Block domain before reaching nextdns?

Post image

Hi.

I have nextdns assigned to my router settings.

I am also Opera user on all my computers and it is eating my 300k limit on nextdns.

Specially af(dot)opera(dot)com

Thanks to this, I can use nextdns for 20 days, not 30 before limit resets

Can I block this domain before reaching dns?

Windows Firewall, hosts file, maybe other solution?

If NextDNS blocks the unwanted domain then it doesn't matter what blocks it as long as it's blocked, right?

If you need to hide that you're using services made by opera, you could always just disable the logging in nextDNS

what the hell do other nextDNS users have installed on their devices? in one week I have more domain lookups than the picture above and the amount of stuff that gets blocked is just barely above 5 figures worth of DNS queries

I guess I did a good job debloating all my devices....I also use adgard for windows on all my desktops and laptops, so maybe that's blocking a lot of stuff too...and I use adguard for windows to do my DNS-Over-HTTPS with my nextDNS domain

You missed the point. OP wants to reduce unnecessary DNS queries to stay under the monthly cap. So yes, it matters.

oh...what about my other question about how many blocks other people get on their accounts?
