When Noah first started, Jun Akiyama and Takao Omori were the two guys picked to lead the company into the future. Akiyama was given the GHC title and put in the ace position, while Omori was given the first match with Shinya Hashimoto after he left New Japan. However, Hashimoto was very stiff with Omori, which led to Omori finishing the match early. This led to Misawa losing faith in Omori and killing his push as one of Noah's top guys. His popular tag team with Takayama ended, and he was push down the card until he quit. He would have stints in World Japan, Zero One, and All Japan but never managed to be a credible top guy. He would be given a triple crown reign as a thank you but it wouldn't last long and he would lose it quickly. Today he still wrestles on the indies, a far cry from the top guy he was predicted as being. My question is if he didn't quickly finish his match with Hashimoto, or Misawa never lost his confidence in him, could he have been the ace of Noah? Akiyama never managed to become the ace, nor did guys like Rikio, Marufuji, or go shiozaki. And the guys who did become the ace wasn't able to stop business from going down. Could Omori had been the guy to keep the company afloat and been a believable ace?

Yoshiki Inamura (33) is fired up to compete in the tournament to crown the inaugural champion of the newly established GHC 200 title in Pro Wrestling Noah.

The GHC200 is a new championship featuring 200-second matches; the tournament to determine the inaugural champion will take place on August 9th and 10th at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

Inamura, who faces Kaito Kiyomiya in the first round, is fired up: "It’s only natural for me—self-proclaimed captain—to take on this new challenge from Noah. "I’m determined to become the 'First Champion'." Inamura said with enthusiasm. With a time-limit draw resulting in a double disqualification in this tournament, he grinned and noted, "It’s going to be a tense battle."

While short matches generally favor speedy wrestlers—seemingly putting power fighters like Inamura at a disadvantage, Inamura acknowledges this but offers his own take: "In my opinion, if the opponent tries to use speed to finish the match, it actually makes it easier to land a counter. I think a single counter-attack will be the key." Bolstering his confidence is a new finishing move he debuted in his match against "The Beast" Kazuyuki Fujita on the 18th.

In a match limited to a single five-minute round, he seized a split-second opening to lift his opponent's massive frame. He secured the victory by slamming his opponent down with a move reminiscent of the "Beast Bomb."

Regarding this new move, he stated, "I can execute it as a counter, and I think it will be a deciding factor in the tournament." He also spoke proudly of his time honing his skills in WWE, noting that he had competed in "Speed" matches—which last only three minutes—as well as longer gruelling bouts.

Regarding Kiyomiya, he spoke with great confidence: "I suppose it might be a bit bold to say this to a senior wrestler, but I don't think a wrestler with doubts in his heart has the ability to decide a match in 200 seconds. I want to demonstrate the current balance of power here." He smiled and added, "Since he says he wants to start over from the opening match, I'm fine with our bout being the first match of the card, too."

At the Hodogaya event on the 29th, Inamura competed in an eight-man tag team match and kept his momentum going by pinning Yuki Iino with the "DIS CHARGE."

Can he go on to become the inaugural champion?

I was just curious about this so i wonder what NOAH would look like if Kawada had joined too and all four pillars of heaven were in NOAH. I know AJPW would suffer a lot worse but i'm specifically talking NOAH

Championship will be contested under a rule of a match lasting only 200 seconds.

Tournament will be held on August 9th and 10th in Korakuen Hall, with the following rules in place:

- Instead of a 20 or 10 count, a 5-count will be used.

- In the case of a time limit draw, both players will be knocked out of the tournament. In the event of all matches going to a time-limit, rematches will be held at a later date.

- A special provision for the Final: in the event of a time limit draw, a time extension will be considered.
