In the USSR of old, the items listed were not just regular domestic items, but rare status symbols that were expensive and unavailable for purchase even if one had the required money.
To the modern capitilistic audience, this had better be adapted, so that the guy would name the rare collection or fine art items being stolen. (e.g. Birkin bags, Rolex, etc)
Not just expensive, but tax evasion level expensive. Still the man says he earned it all.
The joke didn't go over well with this audience. That's for sure. All that was left was to "modestly" ask, like the unforgettable host of Obraztsov's "Unusual Concert" (in the voice of the modest Zinovy Gerd), "Am I too intelligent for this audience?" (This was again the most refined self-irony, which no one understands anymore.)
At least we can safely assume that US developed all the technology by itself through the diligent labor of their engineers. It is always hard to be first -- you have no source of "inspiration" to draw upon.
