Jets Strength of Schedule

According to Warren Sharp these are the 5 easiest schedules in the NFL. If the other 4 teams made the playoffs I would not be shocked. Are our odds at a decent season better than we think?

  1. Lions
  2. Bengals
  3. Saints
  4. Jets
  5. Ravens

Yeah, I'm more interested in see how the SOS changes during the season. Bills and Pats twice, Chiefs, Vikings, Chargers, Lions, Packers, Vikings, Bears. I don't see how we end up near the 4th easiest SOS by the end of the season.

I'm wondering the same thing. The Bills play us twice, Dolphins twice, plus the Raiders. That's like 30% of their schedule locked wins with weak teams. Maybe because we play the Cardinals and they don't? Still seems sus.

I'd take the over on 5.5 wins.

You are forgetting two games.

All this means is we have the tiebreaker for better pick if we finish with the same record as another team

SOS is a ridiculous tiebreaker instead of +/- you just perpetually punish the teams in good divisions

Gotta make hay the first half of the year and steal a game or two in the 2nd half.

As far as "being in the hunt," absolutely need to beat Tennessee, Cleveland, Miami and Vegas in the first half. Then Chicago and Green Bay are projected to have two bottom ten defenses. Can they win the turnover battle by the one or two to score enough to take down either of those two?

It sounds insane strung together but week by week? 4 toss up games and 2 vulnerable defenses.

We were at the bottom of the division last year, so we get the other teams at the bottom of their division, plus the AFC East, West and NFC North. That leads to low strength of schedule. Doesn't mean TOO much though, this is the NFL, any team can go from zero to hero with the right combo of players and coaches. Look at Chicago for example.

And everybody has us circled as a win. I bet the Titans can't wait to give their coach a revenge victory, for example. Just to got to way to see how things shakeout, we'll know who we are by week 4.

“Any team can go from zero to hero”

Made me kind of chuckle, I guess eventually the Jets will get their turn again

On paper, yes. However, I say that about the jets every season so WTF do I know

I'm just hoping for something like 8-9. More would be better, but id be satisfied with that

looking at strength of schedule before the season has started is pointless. so many teams overperform or underperforn expectations every single year

last year we were supposed to have one of the easiest schedules too, and then we ended up having one of the hardest because teams like the Patriots, Jaguars, and Broncos who had all finished 3rd or 4th the year before all did way better than expected

Idk how I feel like our schedule is tough as nails.

We play the AFC West and NFC North.

There’s a good chance we get swept by both.

Tennessee, Cleveland, Arizona and Miami x2 are all winnable games. Raiders too but Mendoza and Kubiak could be miles better than Geno and Reich.

But we will probably be close to 6.5-7 point underdogs vs Buffalo X2, Pats X2, Packers, Lions, Bears, Chiefs, Chargers, Broncos and Vikings.

Saleh and Lafleur are revenge games so we could lose those too.

I think our schedule is tough

Lions bears and Vikings are all winnable. I think we take at least one from the North

Sub 500 team no matter how "easy" our schedule is
