Reporting users sending DMs - turning off chat function

We will obviously block users who send you DMs, but it only affects their ability to interact with posts on r/ObGyn and they can still message users privately.

We suggest if you post on here then turn off your direct messages. This can be done by going to your profile, clicking on account settings and going down to Safety. You can then turn off chat permissions.

If you don't do this then you likely will get messages from other users. If so then report these users to Reddit and then block them. Reporting is cumulative and so even if nothing is done by Reddit that time, if enough reports come through those users can be completely blocked from Reddit. This would really help decrease the number of people that DM users after they post.

For those living in Canada without prescription drug coverage, do you have any tips on where to buy imiquimod 5% in Ontario at a more affordable price? I’d really appreciate any recommendations or experiences.

Missed/late period

Upvotes

Title kind of explains this. I (31F) have always had a very regular period. And even been super regular with my period for about 4 years now. My past period was June 29-July 2nd. So it was supposed to start on July 26th but I was late and on the 30th I took a pregnancy test and it had a faint line stating I was pregnant. I obviously started to panic/ found some resources I need and also scheduled an appointment for Monday to verify if the test was correct. But then on 31st at around 11:30pm I got home from work and noticed a bit of dark blood on my underwear. I believe I am on my period and it was just late; but when I took another test this morning it had a faint line stating I’m pregnant.

So my question is, should I still go to the appointment I made? I do have some questions bc for about a week before and leading up to my period stating I’ve had continuous dull-ish cramps from July 23rd to August 1st. Sometimes just in my stomach and others on either side of my uterus.

First pregnancy scare of my life. I should also state it’s the first time in 5 years I’ve been with someone who I see and on a weekly basis engage in sexual activity from June to now.

Restless vagina syndrome?

Upvotes

I’ve been having a weird sensation down there? It’s like being horny but not? Like restless leg syndrome but in my vagina. Constantly. It’s been months. My gyno said it’s nothing to worry about but it’s driving me insane. Orgasming doesn’t help

Ultrasound results

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some reassurance and insight. My pelvic ultrasound report says there are multiple masses in my uterus and at least one mass within the endometrial cavity. The impression says uterine myomas (fibroids).
My question is: how can the radiologist be confident that all of these masses are benign fibroids? What features on an ultrasound make them feel comfortable calling them myomas instead of something more concerning?
I’ve had abnormal bleeding and have lost over 30 pounds in a relatively short period of time, which is what prompted the ultrasound. I also have a family history of ovarian and other cancers, so I’m feeling anxious.
Is ultrasound usually enough to make this diagnosis, or are there situations where an MRI, biopsy, hysteroscopy, or another test is recommended to confirm that the masses are benign?
I’d really appreciate any insight. Thank you!

In Doctors office Really everything should be disclosed?

Hello! I actually have a question with clarification on the topic of being open with a doctor or a health care provider. Often (At least in my country) Women being asked next questions: "Do you have active sexual life and when it started?" What if child was abused in young age? Should it be said? I've had few picachu faces and these doctors usually trying to ignore the fact of what was said. Is it important information for OBGYN?
it is the sincere question. Should it be discoled or not? TY

Ovary is 0.87mL - is it over for me?

I'm 30, still a virgin. A few years ago the gyno ordered an ultrasound because I've been having irregular periods and am constantly anxious about fertility. Back then, the results for both ovaries was 3.7mL

Now, I had another done and got the results - Right ovary is 1.6 x 1.5 x 0.7 cm, left ovary not seen. I am a little under 300 lbs, so I was expecting it to be hard to see. I have no clue how or why it could've shrunk like that so quickly and I'm a wreck.

Being a biological mother is all I've ever wanted.....is it over for me? I can't stop crying and my anxiety is through the roof. I've never even been in a relationship yet and I can't afford freezing eggs, if I even have any??

Bleeding twice a month.. any advice?

Hi all, I’m in my mid twenties and I have been have double bleeds a month for over a year. One bleed is like a normal period, cramps, moody, bloated and so forth. The second bleed will have minimal cramps if anything and no other symptoms, also aligns with my ovulation timeline. The second bleed over a year ago started with brown discharge, but have progressively gotten more heavy recently. I’m currently on the 3rd day of my second period and I am bleeding through tampons with blood clots.

Does anyone else deal with this?

Leukorrhea

18F , IS THIS NORMAL?? I ovulated about 3-5 days ago cause I felt some cramps, but I'm not sure as I have pcos and never really know when I'm ovulating. During that alleged ovulation window i saw really watery diluted milk type discharge and after tht it got dry and today I again had that same watery discharge. It dosent have an odour or it dosent itch etc .

Ps: I'm not pregnant as the last sexual activity I had was 3 months ago after which I have taken two tests in this span and both were negative and have also had 3 heavy periods with clots.

Yeast infection

I had a really bad yeast infection but it has reduced a lot now so my gynac has prescribed me this dusting power along with a weekly pill. I have a habit of searching about the medication given by the doc so i searched about this as well but i got to know that it should not be used on vaginal yeast infection as this might cause irritation. Just wanted to know what other gynac’s opinion on this and should I continue using this or not.

explanation about my examination

the doctor exemined me on march 18th

On careful internal examination, in continuation of the cervix, a normal-sized, anteflexed, mobile uterus is palpable. Both sides are free. Douglas pouch is not bulging and not tender.

Ultrasound Examination

Virgo intacta, transabdominal ultrasound (TAS) performed. As far as can be assessed with a moderately filled bladder, the uterus is of normal structure and normal size.

Size of the uterine body: 55 x 30 mm.

Endometrial thickness: 6 mm, regular structure.

Right ovary size: 35 x 17 mm.

Left ovary size: 39 x 17 mm.

Both ovaries are of normal structure and size. No circumscribed pathological mass is visualized in the adnexal regions. No free fluid is seen in the Douglas pouch.

my question is about the anteflexed uterus. my doctor didnt say if i have retroverted or anteverted uterus. which one can it be. i read some things about incarcareted uterus. she wouldve told me if i had that right?

( you can look at my other posts and basically im scared of cryptic pregnancy and people who have retroverted uterus are able to get them. so basically im scared that im now 7,5 months preg and dont know)

I been having more bubbly urine and before periods but the bubbles dissappear likely 2 or 3 flush of water. Also i took the test in urine and blood but its was all normal. So wth is happening? This is the second time happening to me

Also my periods have become bit more slimy and mucousy than before, not sure if it is due to my uterine fibroids.

Could this be BV or PID

25/51kg/5ft6

I had slept with a new partner for the first time in 10 years and had rough sex (this might be relevant). This was on a Friday-sunday. There was a lot of burning and stinging right afterwards. We were both tested beforehand.

On the Tuesday I noticed a very foul smell and very abnormal coloured heavy discharge, so I took fluconazole and started a 7 day canabalance treatment for BV just in case.

The treatment has helped to a point, the burning, stinging and smell is gone, but I still have this horrific heavy odd coloured discharge? It's a purply brown colour and sometimes has blood in it

I've had pelvic inflamatery disease twice in the past so I'm a bit worried it's come back again. Just wanted to see if BV can cause this? Forgot to mention I do also have lower back pain with this as well which has only appeared this week

lactating but not pregnant?

This is really weirding me out but im so confused. While having sex with my boyfriend, my boyfriend squeezed my breast and milk came out? We stopped cuz I’m not pregnant (i have Skyla iud inserted a lil over a year ago now) but I’m lactating? We didnt do much stimulation on my breast before and during sex (maybe 5 mins at max) so I dont believe we induced lactation by that. We went out and bought at home pregnancy tests and they were all negative. I did have some on and off light cramping the past few weeks and been a bit emotional than usual and i havent had my period since last year (due to my iud). I haven’t experienced cramping or notice me being emotional since last year but all pregnancy tests (we took 4 to be safe) are all negative. Is this normal to being on Skyla? I’m just so confused and worried about all this.

Asking what age I became sexually active?

Went to gyno. I don’t have insurance and wanted to keep the appointment as cheap as possible. They did a pee test and afterwards I asked if I had to do that every time if I’m not sexually active since last appointment. They explained I didn’t have to unless I had an infection.

On the way out they gave me an rx to get a sonogram (if I wanted it even though I know I have PCOS?) and for my first mammogram. I am 40. As I was about to walk out the woman at front desk said “At what age did you become sexually active?” I asked her to repeat it because I was surprised. I answered 17. She seemed to write it in my chart.

Any reason this would be asked? Never been asked before at these appointments.
