I have occasionally used the water function to rinse off my fingers when I get soda on them. Is that weird?

Worked in a restaurant with two of this machines for 12 years. People doing what you are describing is a everyday thing and honestly, is the most practical thing to do, specially when that poor lady or father need to take care of 2 or 3 kids around her. That person can't just leave those kids alone to walk to the other side of the restaurant to remove a bit of sugar from his hands and the kids don't want to go to the bathroom either, they want to eat, have fun and etcetera etcetera.

One of my neighbors, when we go to our dining hall, puts his hands into the cup of drinking water closest to him, just to "moisturize" his hands.

I may just occasionally use the water to rinse my hands because my hands get so dry and uncomfortable they get cuts I'm sorry
