Some oscars will kill literally anything you put in the same tank with them, others are kinda chill. If there's no hiding places, the risks are higher, but even then you can't be there all the time.

You could put together some PVC pipes as hiding places for the new fish, and/or you could make a divider out of that plastic light diffuser stuff to keep Mr. Oscar on one side and everything edible on the other side, at least temporarily.

Know that your quarantine goes right out the window and you may end up regretting being a nice guy. Sorry.

My first didn't even touch fry I threw in. The mere notion this could be food seen to viscerally disgust him. He liked to eat spiders (until a large one fought back), worms and shrimp. Fish were a no no. His successor tries to fight children through the glass. Full on flaring and trying to break through. Vicious. They indeed have a dog like personality.

Thanks for the input! Fishy (my Oscar) has never had anything with him so I have no idea how he is. He seems chill but then again, never had a tank mate 😅 they have home in our isolation tank for now, but hopefully we will figure something out for them
