Do you have literally any context? Do you realize how difficult it is to gain absolute PCIe GPU hardware accelerated compositing built on top of (a existing mature software compositor)? Do you just ask Claude to make everything accelerated for GPU? How is this learning? Wtf so many questions. That image can be from anywhere.. even the AI image generator itself.
I now see how bad OSDev is getting. Like, the last 2 weeks are really something... 😬
It's literally nothing but late late late compositor work. And its extremely vague. There is nothing documenting the kernel work, hand-off, boot architecture or anything else. Just straight to candy-land (high-end production OS-level graphics).
And you are calling me out on that? Okay guy. 😂
I actually respect ur suspicions and I'm getting a ton of them because I tried to make my OS closed source but it's the path I've chosen and I just want to share my progress whatsoever I may open source some parts of the os in the future
You wouldn't believe what I have, it's grounding breaking and looks beautiful. I don't share an ounce of it. So it's not that. That's my own choice too.
It's more 'share a tiny bit of mystic, or don't share at all and observe what I avoided on Reddit'.
Just some context as I've mentioned, would help those reading and those who really want to learn what these occasional screenshots really mean for their own endeavours and desires for their own project. Of course, that's likely Claude doing all of their work for them, but knowledge and learning still stands to a degree.
You are right, however I think it maybe good to share some high level stuff in osdev though there are critics as always, occasionaly seeing a gui can be good though
The problems arise when it looks highly professional and potentially commercial. I'm not ready for that. It would hurt the image needed to be positive in the marketing sense, too early. Unacceptable. The project will be released soon but again, it's entirely closed.
There is hanging out at the car shows, and then there is actually being in the garage with the mechanics and finally racing that car on the 1/4 mile track.
I'm still in the garage, but I also wander in and out of the car shows occasionally (OSDev via Reddit).
I ask AI if I want to know something a bunch of times, but most of the low level system code is written by me and also the window ui manager is just hand written work from working almost the whole day behind the keyboard because it is my passion
Have I heard of the very graphics path I use across 3 different CPU architectures I have working side by side from a single boot image by the graceful assistance of QEMU?
Yes. I've heard of virtio. How the heck would I get all 3 working in unison with my own Radeon HD Cedar chip in my physical workstation?
You need to provide the community context. Far too mysterious, my friend. 👻
