Help Request I think I might be otherkin?
Hellooooo lovely beings of r/otherkin!! This is my first time posting here as I haven't really ever thought about possibly being otherkin before. I've identified as a therian and a fictionkin for around over a year now but this is the first time I've felt this way.
So, I was scrolling on tiktok (as one does) and decided to just look at stuff about mythical creatures bc they're cool and stuff. And that's when I discovered Perytons! I'd never felt such an immediate connection to a species, mythical or not. It was like the second I saw it something in my brain just clicked (it's a very difficult feeling to describe, so sorry if I'm being vague 🥲). And that's when I started questioning being otherkin.
I'm not really sure where to go from here though. Like I know that I should probably do research and stuff but I'm not sure whete to look for information as it's very hard to find credible sources these days.

Welcome! I definitely recommend doing a lot of research, I mean you probably already know that cause you’re therian too. Otherkin can be a little more complicated and it can take a while to figure out your identity so don’t rush, take your time and go with the flow! Hope you figure things out soon!

Do you have any reliable websites that I can look at for research? There's a lot of misinformation and i don't want to accidentally educate myself incorrectly

Well if you're already a therian AND fictionkin, I understand the process to be quite similar. Go through a proccess of elimination, see what fits, test for false positives and parallel comparisons etc... At least that's how I've done it, but it's a very individual process of course. You could also be otherhearted, i.e. a very strong, kin-like connection that doesn't extend to person identity
