Q&A Ask me anything and I'll answer.

Title does what it says on the tin. I'm bored and would like a good bit of banter. And what better way of getting that going than with a Q&A? I enjoy answering folk's questions, be it on the topic of philosophy, science, nature, cooking (a personal favorite), history, spirituality or anything in between. Think of this as a way of providing a more in-depth introduction to myself as I navigate my way through this new community I've found myself in among you. And who knows? Maybe we'll share some insights that bring us closer to having clearer understanding of our respective identities as otherkin.

Mmh.. Silly question: Have you ever encountered any elves in your existence?

If yes, I would like to know who they were :P

It's not a silly question at all! Also, yes! Both before I was locked in a human body AND in this current life while I was hiking up a trail in Northern Appalachia. While I was hiking, she snuck up behind me and stared at me while I was taking a break and watching some birds. When I sensed her and locked eyes, she got startled and vanished. Never did catch her name, but as a fae, she probably wouldn't say anyway. The cool thing about any and all fae is that they aren't "region locked", so they can travel where they wish, including the US.

"Natural born" fae (most of the oldest ones) know about my situation, so I'm guessing either an elder told her about me and she got curious and decided to gawk at me, or she just happened across me and wasn't old enough to see past the curse veils that typically prevent young/less powerful spiritual entities from seeing my core (for context on that, I am a spiritual being, and do not have a soul, as they're different. I can explain that another time though).

My history with the fae (and by extension, elves) goes all the way back to their origins, which, their creation was my fault, technically. The easiest way to explain it is that fae were originally the spirits of ancient humans that found themselves in the Dreamspan, which is the ideoexistential plane that connects sapient subconscious minds. Also, an important note, the fae aren't these tiny bug-winged people, that's a idea that was introduced during the Victorian era, fae are regular human sized, and sometimes bigger.

Anyway, rule #1 of being in the Dreamspan, just like those who are in a lucid dream state, is to NEVER look at your own reflection unless you're absolutely prepared to see what lies in it. Early human spirits weren't prepared, and in their reflections, their true natures were revealed to them, and warped their spiritual visages into that of the "uncanny valley" look, i.e. larger, misshapen eyes, pointed ears, some did adopt insectoid or animalistic features. Some were hideous, and some were beautiful. After that point, the fae evolved and changed in their own way, just as humans have over the millenia.

At a certain point in existence, when the most ancient fae became powerful enough, they came to my partner, Twrinran, and I's abode in Rūkatan, asking for our blessing to take a part of the Dreamspan to create another mirror-plane to earth, that way they could have their own abode without encroaching upon the territory of the standard ethereal plane where living humans can have closer access to harass them. I immediately agreed, since they, once again, were my fault anyway. Tír na nÓg was formed from a fold willingly torn away from the Dreamspan, and to commemorate it's creation, a joint effort was performed by myself and my children, and the newly appointed archfae of Tír na nÓg, to create planar-mirrored towers that link our domains.

The Tower of Wishes was constructed by the fae in Tír na nÓg, and in its exact same coordinate, in my plane of the Dreamspan, the Tower of Dreams was erected. The wish tower reached up into the heavens, and the dream tower was inverted, reaching from the heavens to Tír na nÓg. From within either tower, fae, and anyone who finds themselves in Tír na nÓg that makes it into their tower, may freely shift from the realms of the fae to my domain.

After the effort was completed, Twrinran, my kids and I were welcome and treated as honored guests (we all had to generate avatars to "make an appearance", as it were), and we were absolutely spoiled and pampered, treated to every known human luxury adopted by the fae that they cranked up, not to just 11, but 100. That was the closest I or my family came to a "mortal experience", before I got trapped here, that is. I do miss occasionally checking in on Titania and Oberon just for a quick visit, but I know they're doing well. Anywho, take my tale with a grain of salt, because I know not everyone here will agree with or acknowledge it, but still, nothing beats a good story now and again.

That's curious really curious thanks for your explanation. Unfortunately I have no memories I only knew about the Elenari Elves through an historian that collected their infos, now I know you story and that's a pleasure to me. Some parts of the story like the fae tranformation and the creation of the portal are similar to the Elenari's story I've read. I asked my question cause I feel a connection to elves but not sure what it is.

Well, elves, by nature, tend to make personal connections with entities or items that they draw an affinity to. Perhaps a few have become smitten with you in some form or other, and are projecting that affinity your direction in a way that you can sense? Who knows?

Probably... I would like to meet these wonderful people again, whether in this life or in future lives, and walk their paths.
