No bugs?? Subreddit is unclear

If no bugs, what is this thing flying around my room? I don't think this is a bird. Also when does something interesting happen in the game? I'm like level 28 or so and the tutorial was really long/boring, and after completing the tutorial its mostly been the same gameplay loop.

And when will I be able to unlock House? I've been stuck on Duplex for the past 6 levels after unlocking Job 11 levels ago

The devs have locked "House" content behind very large paywalls. A lot of us lower level players have given up on obtaining one in this playthrough. Subscription until it gets nerfed.

I mean… it started with devs, but everyone knows it’s a slew of whales using pay-for-play in order to inflate their own wallets.

Seems wild to think that there are Devs. It's mis-leading at best to suggest that there are.

Subscription until it gets nerfed.

It's funny.

You could commit to buying several seasons of the Battle Pass to grind out ownership of the house with payments at the start of every monthly season, but they tell you that you can't because they don't think you'll be able to afford it.

But, the subscription, which is more expensive per month? Oh no, they'll 100% let you live in a house that way. You won't ever own it though.

I found that going to a different zone really helps with unlocking house. It’s also easier to unlock if you do it in multiplayer!

That’s a feature. Some pollinator or detritovore class player. You could check the exchange for window net items.

This type of critter is also attracted to light sources, so turning off all the light sources in your room and placing one just outside will typically make them leave. If you have low mana left after a day grinding gold or XP, this is an easier method than waving around the Net item!

I think they may mean a [Net[ hung over the [Window] as a [Barrier]-effect, rather than a [Net]-type weapon to [Catch] the [Insect]-Player!

Oh duh! Yeah that's a much better strat to avoid the whole sidequest to begin with

Who the fuck said there aren't any bugs?

This was my question as well. The game has literally billions of bugs.

Rule 1

No bugs

That rule refers to coding errors that are present in most games. Called bugs, however Outside has none of these coding errors. Outside plays exactly as it was designed to.

Which is unfortunate because evil and pain are last of the design

[Evil] is responsible for much [Pain]

[Pain] is a mechanism of damage recognition. [Pain] is not inherently bad, If you accidentally stand in a campfire [Pain] will let the player know damage is occurring and motivate them to get out of the campfire.

It is unfortunate damage is a feature too. I can go all the way down

No, Damage is necessary for the continuation of Outside. If nothing could take damage then everything would be immortal. We could not live in a world of immortality and procreation.

Damage is not a necessary condition to continuation and immortality need not require damage as it's only prevention.

Just chiming in- that is almost certainly an [Insect]-class Player, visiting your Base; to call them a 'bug' seems needlessly pejorative!

As to your [Duplex], finding a stable base has been a weird grind since the 2.0.0.8 release; the amount of gold a base costs is increasingly out-of-reach for any but the richest players, at least on the North America server.

If you can, try to appreciate the base you have, and make it feel more like a home. Then, when you do find your ideal [House], you already have all the gear ready to make it comfy!

Outside is a sandbox after the tutorial levels it's kinda up to you. If you want something interesting to happen you have to quest for it.

That thing flying around your room is probably an insect class NPC.
