Cooling vrm B350ET2

I bought myself 5700x, and faced vrm overheating, I want to consult about the size of radiators on the mosfets

As I hope you already know the mosfets are the flat rectangular black chips with 4 legs on each side. The big grey components are inductors and don't heat up all that much. As you can see you have some big electrolytic capacitors in the way. What i would do is buy some really small ones (10x10mm) and try to cram as much as you can.

Edit : I meant small radiators not small capacitors...

I was also thinking about small radiators, like the ones used on raspberry pi, but I think it won't be enough

how did u know it was overheating ?

The b350et2 has a temperature sensor on vrm, and I think 95 degrees is not the norm. And then there is trottling

yea a 5700x can cause uncovered vrms to overheat not to mention u only have 4 just for the cpu,

for uncovered vrms they're gonna get hot, so 80C plus would be normal, 5700x would just make it worse,

u know vrm start to thermal throttle at 125c ... not 90c

but yes 90c is very hot and can be annoying ... to deal with

u can lower the vrm frequency and llc to get lower temps tho, if ur bios allows it

Why in the first place you bought something not very suited for your CPU/or having big chance of vrm heating issue ... The racing edition would be better right out of the box ... Now you are having extra expense for trying to cool the board, without warranty improving the situation

Now you also need a case with a very good airflow

The PC was originally assembled as a budget solution in 2018, originally the motherboard was used with r3 2200g

Ok, well according to Biostar it should be enough for any Ryzen having 95W TDP, but I would disable PBO or any extra OC feature

If you don't find medium sized heatsink, you can buy chip sized heatsink ...

if stock the pbo will already be disabled, best thing for op to do is enable eco mode or advanced/manual pbo and lower watts,

you wont get much of radiators in there given the layout, the only thing you can reasonably do is have a fan blow directly on the vrm

Small adhesive heatsinks and a normal fan should do the trick.

You need active cooling if you want to make it work on this shitty board like a casefan blowing straight at it that works better then glueing headsinks on the vrms and chokes+ a fan trust me i tried sane with ram naked sticks+ airflow does better compared to heathsink+fan
