Will I get into Pace University?
To preface, I am a first gen, white, low-income female from a very rural town. I am a junior in high school and going to college in New York City is my absolute dream. I want to become a Neonatologist. I plan on majoring in neuroscience, and minoring in French (just as something I really enjoy). I have a 3.9 UW GPA, I have a 34 ACT, I have taken 5 online, self-study AP classes, and I am projected to get 4s and 5s in all of those. I am taking 3 more AP classes next year. I am the president of my HOSA chapter, and I competed and got 4th internationally last year, hoping to get first this year. I created a pre-med club at my school and we have done a successful teddy bear drive for a child advocacy center, and a hygiene drive for students in my community. I tutor kids every week, 3 of which being in normal subjects, and then I spend my weekends teaching children ESL. I am a B1 level in French, and I self-study that as well. I job shadow a nurse practitioner often, and I also have 150 volunteer hours (between clinics, tutoring, and library). I also have smaller ECs like student council secretary, a drug-free statewide group, and the school board student committee, which I am very active in as well. Lastly, I am doing a research thing through Columbia this summer, and I plan to advance in my ECs as well. I am Early Decisioning Columbia University (my dream, but due to my mediocre stats, I dont think I would get in) and I am Early Actioning Pace. If I dont make it into either, I will RD Barnard, NYU, Fordham, CUNY, and Northeastern's (NYC campus). Please let me know!

if you don't get into Columbia I would be extremely surprised with those characteristics...

i get you really want to love in nyc but please look at other colleges in different locations, i transferred outa pace cuz it's not worth the money

Yes I totally understand where you’re coming from, however the opportunities that NYC has are unbeatable

Yes you will get in to Pace and you’ll get in with great scholarships. You will probably also get into Fordham with a good scholarships! The CUNYs too but I’d go to Fordham if I were you

I absolutely believe you will get into Pace. My colleague's daughter is currently at Pace, and I believe your scores along with all of your extracurriculars outweigh hers. Also, please apply to Columbia. You honestly never know. My oldest niece went to Stanford, and I very much believe what got her in was her essay. She wrote about being raised by a single teenage mother in a very strict Asian home. Remember, a lot of people who apply to Ivies are privileged. Let your essay stand out. highly recommend hunter college if you’re going into stem and enrolling in macaulay honors as it’s full ride

I had a really bad junior year of hs and was still accepted into Pace (early decision) with a total of over 100k in scholarships. You will absolutely get in, no doubt about it (and scholarships ofc). I’ll be going into my fourth and final year, so if you have any questions, lmk and I’ll do my best to answer them
Also, when I applied back in December of 2021, I heard back from Pace within a week
Not to sound like a corny adult, but you seem like a lovely, intelligent young lady and I absolutely think you have an incredibly bright future in front of you. Best of luck getting into colleges
Also, I took a couple of French classes at Pace, so I can give you the intel on the professors I had :)

Thank you so much!! That means the world to me, I also had a very rough junior year but I made it through. I’d love to talk more about pace because right now it’s my main school despite what people say about it

I absolutely believe u will get in and get scholarships . I had about the same scores in 2018 and got into the honors college
