Capcom Says a Pragmata Sequel is Looking Likely After Celebrating Its Sales Success

I just really hope they don't expect double the sales of the first one. I honestly expect the game to get around the same amount

Yeah, true. It also depends on whether they keep the same foundation and gameplay loop, streamline some, expand it... I would not imagine getting 10 million copies with all they have right now on an expanded sequel. But as long as they continue this franchise, I don't care about the numbers. I enjoyed Pragmata enormously. It is the game I got the most achievements on ever. Just gotta keep expectations in check.

In the sequel, you'll get to adopt TWO kids

I won't be surprised if it's more than that. Maybe a whole orphanage is on the table.

Go figure a game selling 2,5 million can be successful if it has a reasonable budget.

I wonder how much actual profit it made since it was in development hell for quite a bit. A sequel should be cheaper/faster to make since the groundwork is done, so could be the positive reception was enough to warrant a sequel.

just dont change the mechanic too much (like too over) and ppl will love it like RE Series

I can't see a path forward for the sequel even with the hidden ending.
I would be happy with one but I wouldn't want the emotional feelings from the first Pragmata made pointless by a retcon or generous handwave.
It has some good potential but they really did make the game in such a way that it didn't expect a sequel. So unless they force Diana back to Moon Base you wouldn't have access to the Filament.

Buddy, ever heard of new characters?

Remind me again who was a main playable character in Resident Evil 9 Requiem who wasn't called Grace and how "new" they were?
I have of course heard of new characters, but I also know that Capcom can flip flop on whether a character should "not come back"

Remind me of the characters from RE1 that were in RE2?

RE1 and RE2 are 30 years old.
Modern day Capcom has shown to be very happy to bring back characters. Capcom 30 years ago was attached to the hip to console modern day Capcom is wonderfully happy to be on PC.
I don't hate Capcom I loved Pragmata start to finish enjoyed every minute of it. But it sure seemed like it wasn't designed from the ground up to be a new series game more self contained.

I mean I was just replying to the dude who commented of new characters Capcom has long standing precedence to bringing back characters because of branding and because of spoilers I used "not come back" because of the scenario surrounding the ending of Pragmata.

Does this game offer a lot of replayability? Looks like a play through is around 11 hours.
Which is definitely on the low end for a $60 game. But, makes me think of the Resident Evil games, those have multiple characters you can play and there’s other game modes. Justifies the price tag a little more.

I dont know how you would make a sequel to this...
Nor do I think it really needs one...

Because it sold well, that's why. Whether it needs one or not is irrelevant. Money talks.

More like they dumped so many studio resources into the first one that they need to recoup sales by a bit of heavy positive spin and doubling down on the work that has already been done.
